Just wondering why do we all hate these sites? I haven't been on here very long and I don't understand. Although Ive only been to the Knot a couple of times. does anyone here like the knot?

I am actually one of the moderators for one of the boards on the Knot so I obviously like both. The formats are different on the boards so I go back and forth.

I like The Knot for the pictures and ideas but their forums did not suit me at all. I felt like the women are catty and rude and when I asked for advice I got ripped a new one. All their answers and advice go straight toward "run the other way" and "getting out while you can" when that's not what I asked. I like the people on WW better because they are nicer and more understanding and watch what they say more often--meaning they think before they type and try not to hurt people's feelings. They are honest and give good constructive criticism. They are not rude or mean or catty about it at all here. Anyway, that's just my personal experience and viewpoint. I'll stay here for everything I need except ideas and whatnot.

I think that more often that not the ladies on the Knot are rude and attack people's ideas and weddings. We're more like a family here. There has been a lot of drama between the two sites and most of us just choose not to deal with it.

I started with TheKnot and then moved to WW. I never tried to forum on TheKnot but they have pretty nice ideas there. However, WW, in my opinion, just has better tools to use.

I've honestly never been there. Started out on WW and loved it so I stayed. Although I do kind of dislike it when they send over trolls.

There has been some major "drama" between the boards in the past, but all is well at the moment, so ya, we won't go into that. Smiley smile

It's just differet; different format, different ideas, different people. If you REALLY want to know PM me, but I wouldn't worry much about it. Just do what works for you and your wedding Smiley smile

The pages and especially forum over there loads too slowly on my computer.

Why bother? I'm too impatient to deal with that.

WW is just right for me.

I always hear that the girls there are really catty, but I've never really encountered that. I find WW forums to be more user-friendly. I just prefer how they're set up.

Well I'm a recent refugee from there. I was excited about my upcoming engagement and all I got was called stupid, my partner picked on for having mental issues, etc.

I came here because I googled 'the knot b****es' and came up with a thread from here disagreeing with the way they conduct themselves. I figured this place would be friendlier.

I started on the Knot. Honestly, the reason I didn't like them is because I made a Knot a few months before I got engaged and was never able to delete my account. I thought it was ridiculous that they have no easy way to go about deleting it. I actually don't know how to delete my WW account, but I've never had reason to look into it. When I got engaged, my friend told me about WW, so I tried it out and I like everything about it, other than the "regions." They apparently think everyone lives in or near a big city...

Since I was planning my wedding in Las Vegas, the LV board on theknot was very helpful and the ladies there were very helpful. WW regional boards really are not regional because there are postings from all over and really did not have much LV related posts on them.

While WW people are more supportive on all ideas and issues, in my case TK was much more helpful and more focused on the actual planning of my wedding.

I like both boards and still post on both.

I have to say I am with most of the ladies on this post, I was a knot person for many years bc I was married once before. Once engaged I went back to the knot and I don't know what had changed in the years between but I felt like I was in school, I got bashed for writing mistakes and how I spoke, they were very unwelcoming and very rude. I really like WW bc everyone is very welcoming and don't worry about little things, also I like WW because vendors can be involved and personally I think that is very helpful! On the knot that is a huge no no for vendors to speak on the board.

I don't care for the knot because their login process is BS. It would never let me log in, and you need to log in to see anything! you can't even look at pics of dresses or whatever without logging in. plus they spammed me so forget them.

One reason I liked weddingwire better than the knot was because you can personalize the url for your website so it's not so complicated and long! haha and I agree with the others - you can get good ideas from the knot, but i just really got hooked on wedding wire more for some reason
