Who knows about teeth whitening WHILE in a tanning booth?

FMS, the barefoot wife!, on April 30, 2010 at 6:06 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

At my aunts salon, they have this stuff, It's called twilight teeth, and you put a thing in your mouth to keep your lips away from your teeth and you apply this whitening gel and it supposed whitens your teeth using the tanning booth light, Any one heard of this or know if it's safe and won't damage enamel?

I think I will give it a try, I read on the site that it only works on natural teeth, and I only have one reconstructed tooth, my molar, so I should be ok..I will let you ladie know how well it works..

I've seen this at a tanning salon! I never tried it though. I believe all whitening agents only work on natural teeth. I'll be interested to know how it works! Though I am very paranoid about skin cancer and premature aging after working for a dermatologist, I refuse to be as white as my wedding dress and plan on breaking my no tanning booth rule 1-2 months before the wedding and want to whiten my teeth so if this works I could kill 2 birds with 1 stone!

Seems like it would work. They both use the same UV lights. I'll ask about that when I go later on Smiley winking

They have it at my tanning salon also. I really have been wanting to try it but I've been scared I would fry my enamel off lol. If any of you guys give it a try let me know.

Ive heard about it too - A girl at school said she was gonna try it but i never found out if it worked or not.

another PS for people who tan - if you have acrylic nails the tanning booth will turn them yellow. You can buy bandaid covers at walmart (They are little covers that like the thumb things quilters put on but they are made of latex or fabric) and you can put them over your acrylic nails while in the tanning booth so your nails don't turn yellow

Be very careful doing teeth whiteners while tanning. If you're not careful your gums could get burnt. NO FUN!

Instead of buying covers for your nails or whatever else they have out there, save your money and just put a sunblock with high SPF on your nails and it blocks the UVB rays which are the rays that cause the yellowing in your nails. ALSO, the nail salon usually has a special top coat that they can put on your nails to prevent yellowing.

A lot of my brides have had this problem. The advice has never steered them wrong. ;o)

For an awesome teeth whitener, go to: www.lotions2go.com. Cindy is the owner and is awesome to do business with. There is a teeth whitener you can use at home and it comes with a mold that conforms to your teeth. You'll notice a difference after one treatment!
