Who is walking you down the aisle

Brittany, on November 4, 2019 at 8:17 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 15
My father passed away when I was 21.
My step dad and I are not particularly close but was thinking of asking him or maybe having my son walk me down the aisle - he is 9.
thought it would be special.
I have no grandparents or other family that could step in.
thoughts?

Your son walking down the aisle sounds like an amazing idea. I'll likely have my dad walk me down the aisle!

My son, aged 16, is walking me down the isle. His brother, 13, is meeting us at the end of the isle after playing piano. When my fiancée wanted to ask for my hand he had to get through my kids, not my father- so it only makes sense to me that they be the ones to escort me to him.

I’m walking by myself as an independent woman. I have been a single mother for 11 years. So this is to signify that I’m walking down a single mother who’s been doing everything on my own. But once we’re married I will have a partner to walk beside me m, and we become one team together.

DH met me and we walked together. This signifies that we were entering our marriage as equal partners.

Otherwise, it would’ve been my Mom since she raised me alone. However, ww had to come up with another plan as she left me with these people (died May 2017) and the Paternal unit was not invited.

My son is 23 but he walked me down the aisle and I would have chosen that no matter his age. My wife's 29 year old son walked her down the aisle, both stood with us as our best men. I think including your son in such a way would be so sweet.

I walked by myself. Not because I'm not close to my dad or anyone else but because I saw it as my journey to my husband

I say your son. It will be meaningful. My father passed. I planned to walk myself down, but I asked my now stepson to do it. He was very happy. One of his other sons was supposed to walk with a bridesmaid who was REALLY late, so late we bumped her, so that son also gave me away. My husband wasn't expecting that so it was very emotional for us all.

I'm having my 21 year old son walk me down the aisle since I've raised him alone for his whole life. I like that instead of having my step-dad or real dad walk me.

My plan is to walk alone. We have 2 boys, would love for them to walk with me but our oldest is the Bestman and our youngest will be carrying our rings.
