That's so neat, Mich906!!! How did you and your FS decide that a spiritual ceremony was the move for you?

What a special connection for both you and your FS and your MOH and her husband!!! Is he some sort of minister or did he get ordained online?

He got ordained online but he’s done a couple of their friends weddings already. They said if I want it not Christian related I just need to give him the scriptures and he has his generic thing he says unless I have something in mind

My best friends (MOH) husband. He did an amazing job. So honored to have had him be a part of our day.

My priest from my church. He actually asked me if we would have it there right after I got engaged. And I will have the choir singing - which will be weird because I'm in the choir but I dont think I will be able to sing well that day - I get too emotional.

We haven't found anyone yet but we will definitely be choosing someone we both know and are comfortable with, and someone that also does premarital counseling. My dad joked he would do it ever since he became a notary, but I told him he had a more important role for our big day Smiley laugh

My dad will be. He's going to walk me down the aisle and then do the ceremony. My aunt died of cancer in 2015 and wanted to marry her longterm boyfriend before she died, so my dad went through the process to be able to marry them. Not long after FH proposed, my dad floated the idea by me, and I know it means a lot to him so I'm excited for it to happen.

Hahaha, that sounds like something my dad would say, Brianna!! Smiley laugh You've got sometime before you need to find an officiant. Do you know if you want a religious or secular ceremony?

Awww, how super special!! I bet he's just as excited!! Are you going to have someone stand at the front as your dad walks you down the aisle and then have him switch in?

I'm not sure yet!! I had never considered it until my dad mentioned it....several times lol Would it be weird for him to walk me down and then just switch? Should I have someone stand up front with FH?

I don't think it would be weird. I think it'd be cute! I only ask because there was another community member whose father was going to marry them, but her FS didn't want to stand up there by himself. So she decided that her FFIL would stand in the officiant spot as the bride came down the aisle with her dad and then the fathers would switch.

It's your wedding, Kelsey. Do what feels right for you and your FS. Every wedding is different and that's what makes them fun!
