We have both! My sister and bff are MOH. Then his sister and a few friends are maids.
His brother and bff are Best Men. Then my brother and a few friends are his men.
We are pretty balanced

1 family member and 5 friends

For the groomsmen, my FH has some friends and his brother as well as my brother. For the bridesmaids, I have friends, my cousin and my FH’s sisters. (14 people in our wedding party)

Sister in law and soon to be sister in law. And then 2 of my fiancé’s high school buddy’s

My sister is the MOH & her husband is the Best Man.

We both have 4 people each in our party. I have 3 family being my 2 sisters and my cousin and my maid of honor is my best friend from high school. My fiancé has 2 friends and 2 family being his brothers.

My FH is an only child so all his party are very close friends he grew up with (we are all actually very close so they are pretty much family). My bridal party consists of a mutual friend of FH and I because we have gotten so close during FH and I's relationship, my best friend from college, My bestfriend since birth (our parents have been friends for 30 + years so we grew up together like siblings), another good friend of mine and one of my sisters. I originally had two of my sisters in my bridal party but unfortunately one of my sisters passed away in January and my other 2 sisters are just much older than me and while we have grown closer due to losing one of our sisters I t just seemed silly adding them because they were family (I wasn't in their wedding). Our ring bearer is our son and we don't have a flower girl.

Mostly friends, one family member, a cousin on my side, and then my FH has mostly family on his.

Friends! FH's brother will be the only family member

Family. Our daughter is MOH, my best friend, 3 cousin's, 2 nieces are the flower girls, 2 cousin's are ring bearers, my uncle is best man, our son and 3 cousins are groomsmen.

Friends are majority!

My sister, FH's Sister, and one of FH's Brothers is in our wedding party. I have 7 ladies in total, and FH has 8 or 9 GMs ( I'm not sure anymore- He didn't ask them all right away so there may be stragglers. Originally he had 10 to ask, but couldn't get ahold of one and I don't think he's asked another, so he as at least 8)

All of my sisters and two best friends

All friends, actually. I would have liked my sister to be part of it but we kind of grew apart a little since I left for the military. We still talk every once in awhile so she's definitely still invited.

MOH: My best friend and baby momma (Mother of our 3 god daughters.)
BMs: My little sister, and two close friends who happen to be the wives of two groomsmen.

Best Man: FH’s best friend (Basically brother.)
GMs: 3 are husbands of two BMs and the MOH, and then my childhood best friend is also a groomsmen.

and then our god daughters (9, 4, and 3,) will be our junior bridesmaid and flower girls.

My sister, a couple of my closest friends, and my goddaughter for my side. My Fiance's brothers, brother in law and nephew (godson) for his crew.

My side is all friends, but his side is 2 family and 2 friends.

My bridesmaids are all friends and his Groomsmen are split evenly between friends and family. Our flower girl is my niece so it's safe to say most of the wedding party will be friends.
