Who gives the dowry?

FH is ticked off at my dad... He wants to know where his 7 goats are. My dad is ticked at FH. He wants to know where his 4 sheep are...

So to settle the argument, I'm thinking of going to Toys R Us and buying each of them a set of Fisher Price Farm animals to settle this dowry feud.

Any ideas on how to settle this?

    Ha ha. Maybe they will have some good advice in the Bible, seems to me that would be an issue that would have been settled there...

    I did a quick google, and apparently some Kenyan man offered 40 goats and 20 cows for the hand of Chelsea Clinton.

    But here is a good explanation.

    A dowry (also known as trousseau or tocher) is the money, goods, or estate that a woman brings to her new husband.[1] Compare bride price, which is paid to the bride's parents, and dower, which is property settled on the bride herself by the groom at the time of marriage. The same culture may simultaneously practice both dowry and bride price. The dowry is an ancient custom, and its existence may well predate records of it.
