Who did you use for wedding insurance? Fun topic, I know! ;)

Ok, not a super fun topic.

Oops...just realized I researched but never finished purchasing this! I'm curious if anyone had a really strong reason for their choice of provider.

What do you need insurance for. I'm using vendors that have their own insurance.

Our venue requires we have liability insurance, and since we are DIYing our own beer and wine, we need a rider for alcohol. Good point though, I should make sure I don't get stuff that overlaps with my vendors' insurance.

Oh I was like oh shit, do we need that too lol. See if your homeowners or car insurance company has something like that.

I have American Family Insurance and they have a bunch of different policies. I think we have an umbrella policy (extra insurance for home and car) which we are insurance up to $1 million dollars and it only cost $22.00 a month.

We used Markel... Didn't really look into any other ones. Our venue didn't require it, but we read so many horror stories about ppl venues burning down, someone wedding dress getting ruined before the wedding & needing a new dress last minute, and then there was that huge story in NYC of the venue shutting down and many brides no longer having a venue to have their wedding.

We didn't end up needed it and I'm usually so against getting insurance for stuff while FH thinks u should get insurance for everything. But the wedding was the one thing I felt we should get it for just in case. I do not regret getting it though.

You can extend your homeowners for one day and it costs barely anything...Then it cancels the next day. This is what we did and it was super easy!

WedSafe. Venue requires that we have additional coverage even though all vendors are insured and we are covered under our wedding planners policy. It's affordable(about 200 for us w/alcohol rider because we are providing alcohol ). Better safe than sorry. WedSafe was recommended by my planner.
