Which vendor is most important to you?

Becca, on March 16, 2016 at 12:17 PM Posted in Planning 0 18

I just got engaged and would love to know which wedding vendor is most important to you and why? Just starting planning, and want to make sure I am seeing big picture Smiley smile

Thanks!

I'd have to say the venue and catering. Sometimes the venue comes with their own catering (mine did, I know a lot do). Without the venue you don't have a place to get married and without the caterer no one is eating lol.

On the smaller scale, the officiant is also extremely important because without a legal officiant there is no legal wedding lol. So these three would be my priority.

    Congrats and welcome!

Venue/catering. For me they're together. It is super important to me that our guests have an awesome experience at our wedding and a huge part of that is a kickass meal and hella alcohol.

Second would be photographer Smiley smile

Catering because who wants to go to a wedding with crappy food?

And a close second is a toss up between photographer and dj. Photographer because these are the pictures I'm going to have forever but dj because I want to have an amazing party.

I agree with @Lynn. Venue and catering, and then photography.

Really it is my photographer, I booked him right after I had my venue secured. Pictures are worth so much and I want to be able to look back and see great quality pictures. I actually splurged on him a little with no regrets at all.

I think I was more picky with catering and the live band. Good food+ Good music= my idea of a great wedding. Second would be the photographer; they capture moments you'll look back on and "relive" your wedding day once again.

Venue/Catering/Bar (It's all in one for me, too). It comes out to over 50% of our budget.

Second is photography followed super closely by my DJ.

Food and photography. Though your answer may depend on the type of wedding you're going to have and your guests. If your guests include a lot of foodie types, food might be more important to you. If most of your guests are the kind that will always order chicken fingers or mac 'n cheese wherever they are, they might not care about the food.

My caterer/venue (all together for me) - definitely can make or break an event.

Does the officiant count as a vendor? If so, I felt that was the most important one. I knew we would pay whatever he/she had charged once we had found the right one.

After that, venue/catering. For us it was easier because we only looked for venues who included catering, so that made it an even more important vendor.

Food was most important from my parents' perspective. Catering is included with our venue, along with a wedding planner and DOC. Since I no longer live in the state where my wedding is taking place, the wedding planner is a huge benefit that is making things so much easier on myself and my mom. It was also important to me that the venue is taking care of all the setup and cleanup, so that I can enjoy time relaxing with my friends and family. I'd say for me, along with the venue and it's planning perks, food is equally high. Photography is just below food and venue on my priority list.

Photographer! As much as I would love to have my dream flowers and dream dinner menu, I'd rather have the pictures from the event that'll last me a lifetime.

Photographer and caterer. Photographer because when all is said and done, all you have left are the photos. Caterer because good food was important to us as hosts.

Flowers gets an honorable mention because they were important to me. I was able to splurge because we only had MOH and BM and 6 guest tables that needed centerpieces. If we had a bigger wedding party and larger guest list, I probably would still have splurged on my bouquet, but cut back on the other flowers.
