Which is more important to you: your date or your venue?

When you made those first big wedding decisions, which was more important to you? Were you set on choosing a specific date for your wedding? Or did you find the venue of your dreams first and let everything else follow? Which was more important to you? The ‘when’ or the ‘where’? Photo from Art Paper...

Definitely the date! Picked that before anything else, because we'll be tying the knot on our 8th anniversary. It's the only reason we're having a Tuesday wedding, lol.

We definitely went with our dream venue. That was the most important thing for us. When we looked at the venue, we found that it was more expensive for Friday-Sunday so we decided on October 10 which is on a Thursday to cut a little bit of the cost. The only thing I cared about that it was before my birthday which is October 15 and that it was in October. And my fiancé just cares about the venue. He could have married me there that day we toured if he could.

We picked the weekend that we wanted, the venue was available all weekend, but then we looked at cost to rent the venue each day. Our final selection was based on price and the weekend we wanted.

I mean both were important but the where was less important for us. We’re getting married the day before our 5-year anniversary ❤️

The date was most important to us. The date is the anniversary of when we started dating. The venue we only cared about availability, price, distance, and dance floor.

Most venues we viewed had our date already booked, so when we were looking we had already given up on it. Once we fell in love with a venue, we were very surprised that our date was available! Win win, but we were willing to settled on a date for the right venue.

We had a general preference for the date, sometime in September, but also really liked the venue. Since we did not one specific date in mind, and we started to look early enough, our venue had a few options in September. We wanted mid-late Sept, but those dates were taken, so we settled for early Sept. Worth it since we still have a Sept date and the venue we wanted. I did hear that 10/10/20 was the most popular date in most New England venues we visited.

Our location. It is in the town and area where we live and started our life together. We just picked a general time frame and chose the date that was available.

We based our decision on the venue itself, the price and what is all included, and the availability of the date that we wanted. All of these decisions were top priority for us even if I had to compensate for some aspects because finding the absolute perfect venue with everything you dream of having is nearly impossible to find within a price range and date availability.

Both of our leases are ending next April or May. So we've been giving venues those months to determine their availability for our day! Venue is more important to us than the date ♥️

For me, the date was the most important thing because I’m a college student so I didn’t want to miss school or anything. My date is actually on the same day that my spring break starts so I don’t have to miss classes when I go on my honeymoon!

We had a general idea of when we wanted the date to be but it really just depended on the venue's availability. We're doing an evening wedding in the mountains so May 30 ended up being perfect! #winterwoodweddings

I originally wanted the date of June 20, 2020, but my dream wedding venue didn’t have that date available so I changed my wedding date to fit the availability of the venue, because I couldn’t dream of getting married anywhere else!

The where! I’m getting married in the church that I grew up in. The very first thing we did was talk to the church and picked a date based on their availability.
