Which is more important to you: your date or your venue?

When you made those first big wedding decisions, which was more important to you? Were you set on choosing a specific date for your wedding? Or did you find the venue of your dreams first and let everything else follow? Which was more important to you? The ‘when’ or the ‘where’? Photo from Art Paper...

I guess I have to say the venue and date are equally important to us but as long as the general vibe of the venue is what we're looking for it will be okay.

As far as the date, I don't have a specific date that we MUST get married on (being chronically ill for 14/28 years makes you learn to be flexible) but there are definitely dates I would really dislike getting married on based on how they sound or look written out in numeric or word form. *shrug* I have OCD and I have a list of dates that are satisfying for all of 2021 and 2022. hopefully it won't go into 2023 because... There aren't many I'd like that year LOL. What a mess I must sound like!

Originally we wanted it to be at the end of September and looked for venues that had that date. The venue we really liked though only had 2 dates in August available or some in July. We definitely didn't want July so we decided it was worth changing our date to get the venue. 😊

Both are important to me .. We both took our time to find the right venue for our big day . Something romantic and we prefer to continue the fun night after the wedding ! All booked and sign the contract plz put down payment also.

We chose the date first then the venue. It was a natural thing for us to find a date first because it was important us to find out what suited us the best and where we stood on a date.
Once we figured that out, we figured that everything else would fall into place like picking out our venue.

Both. We want a fun date for our hashtag, but we're not going to book just any ol' venue to make sure we can have our date. We have some flexibility because if we don't get 10/10/2020, his birthday is on 10/4 and we'd be the third generation to get married on the groom's birthday. The only downside to that is his birthday is on a Sunday and a lot of people prefer Saturdays. We have one place holding our date for us until the end of the week while we scope out a few others.

Our date! It is our current anniversary date. We have been together 7 years and we did not want to have two anniversaries or feel like we were giving the one up that we have celebrated for so long. We will be married on our 8th anniversary!

This one is a close call but I give the edge to the date. The time of year was important to me and I suppose if my venue did not have an open date during that time I would have looked at other venues.

Well originally we wanted 9/14 because that’s our anniversary but most venues were taken. Also once we found the venue in our price range that went w my theme, they only had 9/1/19 open and honestly we love the number now! It’s so easy to remember! And just kinda rings

Once we figured out July 4th was a Saturday it was about the date.

Neither really for us! We knew we wanted it in spring, and we also knew we didnt want to conflict with anyone's special days (in our case it was birthdays, anniversaries, and mother's day). We narrowed it from there, then we picked 2 Top canidates of the venue, the one with one of the dates we had eventually won out!

I picked a venue, and had a tentative day, which I switched around a few times. I had the ability since I booked way early. I knew I late August close to my birthday, but not on my birthday. So I went with the wknd before my birthday.

The date and general location we’re most important, but the exact venue doesn’t matter as much to us.

The venue is the most important thing. I want a particular time of year, but I want the beautiful venue of my dreams and if I can't get the date I was hoping for, that's ok.

We picked 2.20.2020. All venues were available that day (it’s a Thursday) but in the event that they weren’t we wouldn’t have gone with it. I’m a teacher and my availability is limited to school breaks. Our date is the week that I’m off so it all works out!

The date. Our five year anniversary falls on a Saturday next year. It’s also in October, which is a plus because we both want a fall wedding.

Our date was most important. FH lost his cousin last summer, who would have been his best man. We decided to get married on November 2, because of El Dia de Los Muertos... so his cousin can be at our wedding.
