Which is more important: Ballroom vs Venue Grounds

Allison, on May 3, 2019 at 9:02 AM Posted in Planning 0 6
Hi everyone,
I recently toured 2 venues and am split. One venue I think has a better ballroom and the other venue has better grounds for photos etc. In your opinion, which space is the most important to consider?

I think the place where the wedding is actually held is more important than where you're taking photos. You can go anywhere to take pictures, time permitting.

I think that's a personal decision. Can you decorate the ballroom to be what you want? If not, are you willing to go to an alternate location for better pictures? It's really a decision for you to make. For us, I would rather have a space that was grand where the guests spent the most of their time. Getting photos done can be at an off-site location if needed. But that would be my preference!

I agree with others that you can take photos elsewhere. Choose a better reception venue because that’ll also mean less money decorate an already-nice venue. 👍

If I thoughts one venue had a great ballroom (lets say it is a 9/10) and ok space for pictures (lets say its a 5/10), but the other venue has a good ballroom (lets say it is a 7/10) and beautiful space for pictures (9/10), I would go with the space with the nice ballroom and the awesome area for pictures.

I agree that the place you invite your guests to for the reception is the more important factor when choosing a venue. That's where you will spend your wedding day, and mingle with all your family, eat, drink, dance, etc.

Pictures can be taken anywhere!! My sister did hers at a local park about 15 minutes from her reception venue, before the ceremony, because it was much prettier than the venue grounds.

Hi Allison Smiley smile Have you picked between the two venues yet? Which one did you and your FS choose for the wedding?
