Which do you prefer: Fingertip or cathedral veil?

Tina, on October 2, 2019 at 6:49 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 47
I ordered a veil online to go with my gown and I got it and it's definitely not ivory, more like champagne. I can't return it so I'm back at square one. The veil I ordered was waltz length which I liked but I've seen some second hand veils that might work at a price I can afford and they're either fingertip or cathedral length. I just can't decide which length I like best. Which do you prefer and why?

I personally went with fingertip length because the back of my dress had a lot of beading and detail that I didn’t want to cover up. If my dress was more plain I probably would’ve gone with cathedral length.

I'm making my veil. I tried on some to get ideas. I found that the fingertip length ones cut me in half oddly and looked a little frumpy. And the cathedral ones were just too long for my liking. I'm doing a single layer waltz/ballet length with a hand beaded raw edge. I'm spending about $10-15 for my materials vs spending $150-200 for one in the stores.

Fingertip veil is more appealing to me just cus a cathedral veil though seems dreamy also seems very inconvenient

Although both are gorgeous lengths, I would personally prefer fingertip only because I wouldn't want to get caught up in the cathedral length. I'd be too worried that it would snag on something or I might move and trip over it. It just looks like I would have to continuously maneuver my way around it and make sure that I keep it behind me where it belongs.

Do you have it yet? I've looked on Amazon and read mixed reviews.

Fingertip for me! I didn't want to risk tripping over a long veil

I got my cathedral length, single layer veil on amazon for $15. It’s an exact match to my ivory BHLDN dress, too!

My train is fingertip length because my rain is where all the beautiful designs and beading is. Plus everytime I think about wearing a cathedral length veil, I worry someone will step on it and I have a vision of my head jerking backwards and falling down lol It's not pretty

I haven’t actually worn it for my wedding yet, but it doesn’t have any loose threads or fraying and the comb stays in well!

Thanks! I saw some on Amazon that are exact copies of more expensive David's bridal veils I like. I want crystal beading edging.
