Where to rent mens suits...not tuxes?

* Gin, on July 9, 2012 at 1:30 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 19

Were having a spring beach wedding in North FL. I am looking to see where I can rent Mens suits but all the rental sites I have seen only show tux rentals. I am looking for a tan/khaki slim fitted suit.

Can anyone give suggestions as to where your renting yours? Thanks!

Some pics for inspiration

I'm having the guys buy pants and a vest from JCPenney, they'll spend $62 (plus tax) on that, and they get to keep it. Don't know about renting suits, but buying them may be a better way to go. Are you looking for specific colors?

Check out Joseph A. Bank...you can't rent, but their prices are great, so it's cheaper than renting a tux (about $100 if you can catch their buy X suits, get X suits free sales). You might also check local, not chain, rental places.

The wedding is in North FL and renting is the best option as my Groomsmen are traveling from Europe so I wouldn't find everyone's to match the guys that are in the US.

Future Mrs C. I checked out Jos A Banks website and they only showed Tux for rent, do you know that they also rent suits? I really like their slim fits but they run $800 to buy.

I don't know if you have them in Florida, but Al's Formal Wear does suits as well as tuxes.

Hmm. Have you tried calling Men's Wearhouse to see if they just rent suits?

Also, the guys would probably need to get measured for rentals -- if you contact anyone here, make sure they'll accept measurements over the phone.

If they know their pant size and can assume their vest size, JCPenney will ship to a store for free. You can pick it up once you get here, so the guys could have all the same suits. Just another option if the renting doesn't pan out.

Thanks Reenski! I do plan to have them all get measured so I can order them for them. I would surely hope stores wouldn't require everyone to come for an in person measurement. I can't be the only far away bride in this situation.

We looked everywhere to find a rental place in NC with no luck. We ended up doing Jos A Banks, buy one get 2 free. By the time we split the suit cost between the 3 grooms men, DH, Dads and 1 brother they came out to be about $100 each. We let them wear their own black shoes as long as they looked nice and we purchased the ties as part of their gift at JCP.

JCP also has really good separate pricing for items similar to your photos. Could you get your over seas guys to get measured and then purchase in bulk online or at a store?

Suits can be worn again and you might be better off just having them buy their suits as a bm would. LeChateau often has suits like this. Just I remember working at a suit store that if it is something they might wear again it would be worth the extra $50 to own.

Also they could still rent shoes, ties accessories from a tux shop if needed

Gin, I don't know if Joseph A. Bank rents them, but FH had to buy his suit for the wedding he was just in and they did the buy 2 get 2 deal (or something like that...their sales are always changing) and FH only paid $100. I will say the fabric was very thin, but that was likely on purpose for a June outdoor wedding.

Men's Warehouse doesn't rent suits just tuxedos. They will let you rent the pants, shirt and vest if you want.

I don't know if you have a Tuxedo Junction in your area, but we rented from them and if you look at the pics on my profile you'll see that the groom and BM had on pretty much what you're looking for. I added in the vests to pull all the colors together but the guys could've gone without a vest and it'd just be a suit.

I live in Jacksonville, an we got tuxs from men's warehouse across from the op mall, but they might rent suits too and they are really friendly and extremely helpful. If they don't rent suits they might be. Able to refer you to someone.

Many tux rental places also have suits. Just call around. They usually just feature tuxes because that's what most people want.

We're getting ours from a place called Tip Top Tux, and they rent suits (the fathers of the groom will not wear tuxes, nor will the ushers, according to FH)

Ginny, if you register @ Macy*s (in store), you get a coupon for "buy 3 get one free" for mens suits (including shirt, tie, etc)!! That's what we plan to do.. the cost of the 3 suits will be split between the 4 of them, bringing the cost to about $200-$250 instead of $500 each..

***I might add that if the guys are going to spend a good number on suits, they may as well own them! There's always an occasion for a gentleman to suit up! Smiley winking My guys were happy to do it.. two of them are professionals and one likes to look stylish anyway. They all needed a new suit.

PLUS Macy*s tends to have some killer sales.
