Where to go to get ready before the wedding?

Dominique, on May 30, 2019 at 1:49 PM Posted in Planning 0 8
Where did you go to get ready for the wedding? Hair, make-up all of that. And how soon do you arrive at the ceremony? Our ceremony is at 1:00pm what time should i arrive? Thanks!

It depends on a lot. Are you hiring a salon to do your hair and makeup, or an artist to come to you? They can come to your house or a friend's house, a local hotel room/suite, or a getting ready room if the venue has one for the bride. Are you doing doing a first look? If no, you'll want to arrive 30 or so minutes prior I'd think? If yes, you'll need to talk to your photographer on how long she needs.

I'm getting ready at our apartment (FH is getting ready at his parents' house). We plan to get to the church about 45 minutes before the ceremony starts to make sure we don't bump into any arriving guests on our way in. We'll also do gift exchange while we wait for the ceremony to start.

I’m getting ready at our apartment. The hairstylist is coming to us. FH has an Airbnb for him and the guys. We are heading to the venue around 3 to get dressed in a changing room, then do separate photos with our respective wedding parties/families. Then we hang out there until the ceremony starts at 6.

We are going to the salon for hair and makeup then coming to the venue to actually get dressed and ready for pictures. Our ceremony starts at 5:30 and we are probably going to start pictures between 2:30-3:00 so we can get them done and back inside before guests start arriving.

As everybody else said, it certainly depends on a lot of your other wedding choices. Personally, we're doing hair and makeup at a salon, so we'll go there first, and then I was able to get a really good deal on a big suite for my mom at the hotel where we have a block of rooms, so we'll all go to her room to get ready. It's a little bit of back-tracking, but there's really nowhere at the venue to get ready, and the guys are going to use our house, so it seemed like the next logical choice.

My hair dresser and makeup artist are both traveling to us. I really wanted the morning-of to be relaxed, so I chose to get ready with my bridesmaids at my Step-Mom/Dads place. We will spend the late morning enjoying each other’s company, getting ready, having mimosas and brunch items. My FH will be getting ready with his groomsmen his grandmothers house. We plan to arrive to the venue 30 minutes early. 💕

Hey Dominique! Have you thought any more about where you and your bridal party will get ready?
