Where did you get (or getting) your wedding invitations from?!!

Courtney, on April 28, 2018 at 3:24 PM Posted in Planning 0 32
I am currently searching online for wedding invites.. my family and FH's family live a bit further than we would like... so we plan to send our invites out earlier than most would. So I started searching online... shutterfly, minted, annsbridal, and vistaprint so far... i really dont want to spend a fortune on this part but also want nice invites and not just plain printed on cardstock...

Please send pictures or any ideas of where I could shop or look... and thank you!

I used zazzle and they have discount codes all the time. I designed them how I wanted and saved them a few weeks for a 50% off sale. They look beautiful

I got mine from vistaprint. It was like $45 for 80. I’m doing very informal so I just went with the basic card stock and no inserts, but I think they might have higher quality options. My colors are teal and sunflowers so I thought this fit. At first i didn’t think they were very editable but then I realized you can edit them a lot more than I expected.

I went to a local stationary shop. It was nice to be able to feel the paper in person and customize it. Good stationers will ask for your budget and show you the possible options.

We got our at magnet street. I love them! We got all the elements to the suite and it was fairly affordable in my opinion for the quality.

I got mine from Theamericanwedding.com. They were the most cost effecting and very user friendly to edit. it doesnt hurt to look but I would still hold off. You have over a year before you even need to think about buying them and new styles may be released in that time.

Even with a majority OOS guests you really shouldn't send them more than 10 weeks in advance. Any earlier and you run the risk of people forgetting or RSVPing no because they can't definitively commit with such advanced notice. I have 75% of my guests OOS and we're sending ours out 8 weeks in advance. We sent out STDs to only OOS guests to help give people a heads up. We just bought our invites for our september wedding last week.

Our issue is most of them are in canada...
And we planned on sending in advance for the sake of plated meals n knowing what everyone wants...
Then we plan to send the reminders maybe even a save the date sort of theme on a magnet... plus we are very close to everyone coming so it makes it easier also.
I was also worried if we did it too soon someone may forget but with social media and our relationships with everyone... we think the friendly reminder in april/May 2019 will be great.

But thank you. I do understand your side of it.

We got our main ones from elegantbridalinvitations.com - there were some delays in production, but we're very happy overall with the quality and the customer service.

We also got a second batch from annsbridalbargains.com - for some OOT guests as courtesy invites. They were decent quality for the price (99 cents each for the whole suite, separate and send type). I liked that they weren't just on plain paper. We used different colors/fonts than the stock photo.

I got my invitations from basicinvite.com. They have so many designs that are truly customizable. You chose the colors, the fonts, everything. I ordered a sample, it got here super fast. Then the design manager emailed me back asking if my sample was what I had envisioned, and even gave me a 15% code. A wonderful experience!

I used Shutterfly and Zazzle and waited for 50% off codes which they have all the time. Between invitations for our DW and hometown reception I spent less than $200!

I used Shutterfly. They turned out gorgeous, but there were problems with their printer and our order was affected. When I got them, they were all kinds of wrong. Luckily, Shutterfly totally replaced our order for free. The replacements came and they were perfect. Make sure whoever you wind up ordering from has good customer service.

I'm making my own invitations from the dollar store. I'm buying 5x8 picture frames and etching the glass for the calligraphy and using contact paper for the decoration
