Where did you buy your used dress

Jr, on July 24, 2019 at 7:49 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10
Im trying to save where I can. I have a few dresses in mind but I thought of buying a used dress.. where did you get yours? Did you try it on first? Did you already know the style you wanted?

I was going to buy mine from StillWhite but found it on a better discount at an off the rack sale at a bridal shop

My dress wasn't used, but I did buy it online from another bride on Facebook Marketplace! It was brand new without alterations; she was just selling it because she bought 2 dresses and decided not to wear mine. I, also, looked on Poshmark, StillWhite, preownedweddingdresses.com, and Tradesy. I had two bridal appointments beforehand so I knew what style dress I wanted. My dress is a a mermaid style gown with a sweetheart neckline, beaded and lace bodice, and ruffled skirt! It's got so much detail on it and is so me!! I got it for an amazing deal too!

I bought a dress off poshmark for $140. Worked out well. I couldn’t get it to zip up when it first came because I didn’t realize bridal sizes were smaller than regular sizes but I had several months so it was a good motivator to lose a little bit of my extra weight.

I looked at a few on stillwhite.com but did not purchase. Many brides there were willing to let me try on if local. I ended up finding one I love on a fluke at a salvation army.

Amazon with expedited shipping it came to $105. I went to David’s tried on styles found one I liked and got my measurements. I wanted a pink dress but they didn’t have anything I could afford. I love my dress the alterations are $160 so in total it was less the. $300.

I have a knee length white dress, so I bought a second hand Jason Wu dress off of ThredUp. I'd advise starting early. One of my friends took months trying dresses off of StillWhite before finding the right one.

I would also look to see if there are bridal consignment stores in your area. I looked at 2 in my area before choosing my dress.

I got my mine off still white.com. It was brand new because the bride decided on a different dress. I paid less than half of the price that I would have paid if I got it from the store. It needs some slight alterations but besides that it’s perfect!

I got mine from Poshmark. It's a sample dress so not unworn but not really used either. I made sure I asked for measurements and not just dress size. I work in vintage fashion so I know measurements are best!
