We just got back from staying in a cabin in Maggie Valley/Waynesville in North Carolina. We spent a few days in Asheville and Cherokee, which was only about 40 minutes from our cabin. We love the mountains and it even snowed while we were there!

We are still trying to decide. We are getting married next March in Gatlinburg and want to honeymoon right after somewhere within driving distance. We were thinking beach until we realized Mid-March is still pretty cold. So now we have no idea. 馃槒

We are going to Minocqua which is the northwoods of Wisconsin. It's about an hour away from where we live. It's a beautiful resort town with lots to do downtown. We are just going for a long weekend, since we are saving for a house.

We are getting married in late November, which is fall/winter for most places. We are from the Deep South so November is still about 60/70 degrees for us. Maybe. I know the farther we go up the colder and snowier weather we will hit. I just have no idea where to go during that time of year! We prefer mountains over oceans.

Yeah, I wouldn't take the chance of going to the northwoods in Wisconsin during that time of year. I'm already thinking for us going in October in the northwoods it will be in the 60's at least in the morning and at night. We actually moved ours up a few weeks we were going to go towards the end of October, but last year we started getting snow at the end of October. Now we are going the 2nd weekend in October.

Totally understand! We're from South Carolina and while the one snowy day we had on our honeymoon was gorgeous to look at, I HATE the snow Smiley xd Our end of February wedding in Saint Matthews, SC was 60 degrees and it was perfect!

We just got back from our honeymoon in NC (last week of February) and while the temperature stayed around the 30's-50's, it was totally fine for us to get around in. Even with that one day of snow, it was only a few inches and really only stuck at the top of the mountain where our cabin was, the rest of the area was clear. I think you'd be okay in the mountains in NC at the end of November, but I wouldn't go much further north if you're worried about snow!

Well we were planning going to go to Italy (Venice, Florence, and Rome). Our second choice was Japan.

The Coronavirus has killed any possibility of that. We may be waiting for a long time for our honeymoon Smiley cry

We're planning on doing two weeks in France going from Paris to Provence to the C么te d'Azur. I love France, especially Paris. I studied French in college and did a study abroad program in Paris and Nice so I'm excited to show my FH around some of the places I loved then as well as explore new places too! He's never been farther out of the country than one cruise to Mexico so he's excited

If you like mountains over oceans and you are in the gulf shores area, I say go to Gatlinburg. There is so much to do! Obviously there is the usual tourist stuff (Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, etc), but there is also the hiking and exploring as well. Even if you want to avoid most of the tourist stuff I must say the SkyBridge is a MUST both day and night! It鈥檚 so pretty!

How much does it snow there in late November?!
We have never been around or driven in snow and we are trying to avoid places that snow a lot.

Sure! We stayed in an Airbnb cabin up a mountain in Waynesville, right outside of Maggie Valley. We were hoping to go to the "Wheels Through Time" motorcycle museum in Maggie Valley, but they were closed for the winter season. We went to Harrah's casino in Cherokee, NC which we liked a lot, all we did was play slots. They actually gave us each $50 free credits for being new players and we walked out with $70 having spent none of our own money! We went to a Harley Davidson shop in Cherokee for a few minutes, my husband collects the poker chips they sell. There's also a Museum of the Cherokee Indian that we planned on going to, but decided not to since we were so tired that day.

In Asheville we spent about 3-4 hours at the Biltmore, neither of us have ever been. It is a little pricey, but I highly recommend going at least once! We also went to the Asheville Pinball Museum and ended up spending almost three hours there. For a flat fee of $15 per person, you can play unlimited games. They had rows and rows of old and new pinball machines that were a lot of fun, then they had another room with old arcade style video games like frogger, galaga, dig dug, pacman, all kinds of stuff! Then the last room they had was retro/vintage video game systems like Sega with Sonic the Hedgehog and SNES with the old Super Mario Bros. This may sound super nerdy to some, but we LOVED it.

Asheville also has The French Broad Chocolate Factory with 45 minute tours for only $12 per person. You get to learn the history of chocolate and how it's actually made (we learned a LOT that we had no idea about) and you get to try samples of all their housemade chocolate. After the tour you get 10% off anything you want to purchase in their store to take home with you. We also went to the Looking Glass Creamery in Fairview (about thirty minutes east of Asheville) where they make all their own cheese and it was amazing. Other than that, we really just tried a lot of local restaurants that we loved Smiley smile
