When writing your vows.... your ending??

Jacqueline, on August 5, 2020 at 5:20 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 11
So I finally took the time earlier to write out my vows. Now I’m stumped with how to end it. Love, Jacqueline as if I’m giving FH a letter?
or say nothing after last sentence and hope he Proceeds on with his vows to me?

I ended mine with saying I love you and I can’t wait to start this journey with you

I just ended mine with all of the promises I was going to make to him then handed the book back to our officiant.

LolThanks, but to directly answer your question, I’d suggest just ending it with looking at him and saying I love you, And then once the officiant/priest/pastor gives you the OK you give him that biggest wedding smooch you can ever give in your entire life! LOL congrats!

I think it’s important when you read your vows to emphasize the end. Just like giving a speech, read it in a way your audience knows you’ve reached the end and look your husband in the eyes and smile.

We wrote our own vows too. I ended mine with a poem that I had written for him for our first (dating) anniversary

We're working on this right now! Traditional vows end with, "until death do we part," or something similar. Our vows (we wrote them together) are less formal than the traditional ones but I didn't want to end with, "until one of us dies," so right now we have, "from this day forward," but that'll probably change. Anyway, if you end with something that makes it clear that this is forever and then you stop talking, he'll probably get the hint. You can also tell your officiant what your last line is so they know that's the cue to tell your partner to start.

It's coming up so fast! Smiley smile I finished with "I love you."

I'm ending mine with "and I will always love you more" because anytime time he says I love you my response is love you more. I think something along the lines of I love you or I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you, etc. is always a good choice
