When to send thank you cards

Our wedding is May 8, 2020. We sent out save the dates with our wedding website info that included links to our registry. We just received a few gifts from the registry and my first thought was that we need to send a thank you card right away but my fiancé thinks we should wait and send all thank you cards after the wedding. Any thoughts on this?

Definitely send them out now. It will let your guest know that you received the item (and it will give you fewer to do after the wedding!).

You should send a thank you as soon as you receive a gift. You wouldn't wait months to thank someone. It will also make your life a lot easier to do them a little at a time.

Send it asap! I made the mistake of not sending one to an early gift and it upset the person because they didn't know if I had actually gotten the gift!

Send them right away!
This way...
1. People will know you received the gift2. It’s polite to thank people sooner rather than later3. Your post-wedding self will be VERY happy to have some of the thank you cards out of the way!

Open the gifts when you get them and send the thank you cards as you go.
