When is the best time to send out the formal invitations? Destination weddings...

Vanessa, on March 30, 2017 at 10:26 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 12

To all my destination brides...

When is the best time to send out your wedding invitations? I have seen 2 months, 1 month, and same time frame as a traditional wedding.

We sent out our save the dates a year and 2 months in advance, a reminder New Year/ Happy Holidays card, and we have a wedding website.

We sent our invites out 8 weeks before the wedding with an RSVP due 4 weeks before.

I sent mine at 2 months and 1 weeks I believe. I accidently out my rsvp sooner than it needed to be but I would say depending on when your venue needs the finally head count set the rsvp for 2 weeks before that so you have time to track down any that may forget to reurn them,

We sent ours at 9 or 10 weeks. RSVP was due 3 weeks and a couple days before the wedding.

I sent mine our 3 months early because my resort needed the numbers 60 days before.

I'd say 10-12 weeks. But my DW venue needed numbers 1 month in advance so that affected my decision

We sent our formal invites out 2 1/2 months prior to the wedding. We knew most of who had booked hotels and flights at that point but there were some that we didn't know.

Funny - I literally just looked this up. According to Wedding Paper Divas at least 10 weeks in advance. Which also means I will do save-the-dates as soon as my venue is selected. Welcome reception and post wedding brunch TBD on details but I will ask people to save those dates as well.

Our wedding is half DW (FH's side will have to fly out). We're doing ours at the 10 week mark.

With a destination wedding you send them sooner. Just make sure you know your venues deadline and make sure you send them before that. Or if youve recieved all of your rsvps you can send official invites...my wedding is next march, but i think ill send final invitations December.....or if i see people have booked their flights&stuff ahead of time&things are secure ill send them out earlier

We are sending them out two and a half months in advance because we need a lot of information to get them past the gate guards. Base security needs the list and info a month in advance.

Final head count without the ability to change the number is due 2 weeks before the wedding.

I am looking to send out the invitation August 1st, with RSVP's due September 1st and let our venue know September 15th. Gives us 15 days to track people down...

    Thoughts?

I will send mine out next month probably and request them back my June. Most people have booked there flights already. Our wedding is in September.

I want to know final numbers for rentals, flowers and food.
