When do you bustle your gown?

FutureMrsHarris18, on July 16, 2018 at 7:16 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13
Do you do it after pictures but before the entrance of the wedding party? Or do you bustle it after the first dance?

Great question!!! I’m not sure... maybe after ceremony and pictures, before dinner and dancing?

It's entirely up to you. I will suggest if you have a more complicated bustle, more than maybe five points total, to bustle it before entering the reception, it'll be less stressful that way.

You can't dance unless it is bustled, so definitely before that. I got bustled after the ceremony before I joined the cocktail hour. If you're taking posed pictures during cocktail hour instead of joining it, then bustle it right before entrance of wedding party because this leads into the first dance.

When I was doing wedding photography the most common time was after formal pictures and before the reception so you can get in and enjoy without having to duck out and worry about your dress getting stepped on

I had a ballgown and bustled mine after the ceremony and family photos and before the cocktail hour and reception.

I had a ballgown and bustled after the first dance. I realize that was out of the norm but we did a slow dance and my wedding planner suggested it would look good for pictures. I was in such a good mood so I went with it without thinking too much about it. I don’t have any regrets though. I actually bustled it after our sit down dinner just before the party dancing.

Before entrance. You will be miserable trying to dance with the train. So get bustled up right after pictures!

Hey girl! I work in the bridal industry and we always recommended to bustle at the time of your reception so that you can avoid your train getting stepped on. At the end of the day, it’s totally up to you!

Not necessarily! I'm doing the first dance after dinner, not when we first walk in.

It's also not impossible to dance without a bustle, but it is highly uncomfortable, depending on the size of the train!

I would bustle it before you plan to dance as it will surely get in the way then.
