When do you ask your bridesmaids?

I got super excited and asked them the week after I got engaged lol I called them on the phone and had a personal conversation with each of them.

I know I was premature, some girls on here seem to post about planning proposal boxes to their bridesmaids, and so on.

I've heard the rule of thumb is one year to eight months out, you should have asked.

Did the same. Got excited and asked 3-4 months ago. Only 2 I haven't asked is FH's little 13 year old twin sisters. Just because they'll be all over me after I do it.. Thinking a cute Christmas present to give them

I got engaged in Dec 2016 and asked them in May 2017. So far, they helped me pick out a dress and helped me with opinions of ideas that I present to them. They are a great help so far

We just finished up asking everyone. A few of them need more than 6 months to save and plan so we were respectful of that.

I got engaged 11/26 and I asked them on Christmas. I know it might have been a bit early but I knew I was going to ask my two sisters and my FSIL! The other two girls, I asked the next time I saw them when we went out to dinner.

I asked them after a month. Only because I ordered gifts and was waiting on them. Still love them all the same 6 mo later

Mine are almost all asked. I'm just making sure to actually get them on the phone to have a conversation. There are things you want to share with people more than 6 months in advance, and talking about dresses with a good friend (even if you aren't the one who brings it up) just feels like there's an elephant in the room!!
