When are you sending your wedding invitations?

We found 8 weeks worked out great. The RSVP deadline was a month later and final numbers were due to vendors 10-12 days after that. (Also, she got married in mid-January, so that meant invites went out Thanksgiving week and the RSVP was Christmas Day -- we figured we'd be talking with people anyway, if we had to follow up.) On these forums at the time MANY brides were saying they were going to send theirs out 12-16 weeks "because of the holidays...." We didn't find that necessary at all -- and, honestly, it drove daughter nuts waiting just those 4 weeks for the RSVP date. I don't think sending them early really gives you any significant advantage. As someone posted on another thread today, your guests who are going to respond quickly will do that regardless of when you send them out and those who are going to take their time will do that regardless, as well. The more time you give them, the longer they will take. FYI -- daughter sent STDs 6-7 months before the wedding date and only did online RSVPs. We only had to follow up on 10 of 127 guests; and that only represented 3 "households." Daughter had her total number (101) within 3 days of her RSVP deadline and only had one minor change after that (a cousin asked to bring her college-aged daughter rather than her husband who has immunity issues and his blood counts were too low). 6-8 weeks is fine.

I would send them 2-3 months in advance. Not too soon, and it gives them time to make arrangements if need be.

I just realized that I was planning in sending them out almost 3 months in advance. So I need to revamp my timeline.
I plan to use my time off between Christmas and New Year's to get them all stuffed and addressed. But I guess I wont send them out immediately.
I'll have to decide if I can contain my excitement and not mail them before 10 weeks out.

I'm sending mine 10 weeks before the wedding. So that would be mid July for a Sept 28 wedding and the RSVP Date is August 31. I did this so guests had 6 weeks to respond (being summer time I gave guests a little longer than normal to RSVP because of vacations and all summer events that occur) as well as my final numbers need to be given 2 weeks before the wedding so this will give me 2 weeks to contact anyone who failed to RSVP by the date.

Date twin! We’re sending ours out two months before, and requesting a response by August 10. We sent out save the dates, so people have known when the wedding will be. So I don’t think two months is too late at all.

We are getting married August 10th.. yaya we plan to send out our invitations on June 1st

My wedding date is August 17th and I just sent out my invitations this Saturday.

Mine is August 31st
Ours is on a holiday weekend so we are sending ours out this week or next week our venue also needs a head out and seating chart done by August 1st.
Our RSVP date is June 20th

I sent out my invitations last week and my wedding is August 10th. With a RSVP date of July 10th, I thought 6-8 weeks was not enough time.

Our wedding is October 12. Our RSVP date is Sept. 7. I think we're going to send ours out around August 12-15. So about 2 months. We sent STDs at the end of last year, because we have a lot of people traveling. If you give people too much time, they'll put off doing their RSVP, or forget more easily.

I am sending mine out 12 weeks before the wedding. I found that some of my STD's took A MONTH AND A HALF to deliver, including my mom & dad's which we dropped at the post office a mile from their house! Our deadline is 6 weeks before the wedding which will give us time to get any last minute, headcount dependent things together.

Our date is Aug 10th. We have started addressing and getting our invites ready to send. We went out Save The Dates in January and will send out invites at the end of this month. Most of our guests are traveling so we wanted to give people some extra time in case they need to make arrangements.

I sent ours 3 months out (so 12 weeks) but I need our RSVPs by 1 month out so I wanted to give myself & guests plenty of time.

6-8 weeks is fine. Any earlier, and guests forget to RSVP, or forget to put it on their calendar, etc.

Our wedding is July 13. We sent our invites out on Friday! We did 10 weeks out because we have at least 90% of our guests out of town.
