We met online 8.5 years ago when we were really young. We went on our first "date" the day before my 19th birthday! I was fresh out of high school and had no idea what I was looking for, or if I really was looking for anything. We dated for a very short while (maybe a month or so) and then decided to just be friends.
Over the years we dated other people but always came back to each other. Even when we weren't together we would go to movies, grab BBQ, watch football games, go tailgating, grab lunch together etc.
After 7 years he invited me to go to Dallas with him to a mutual friends wedding and that was the end of "just friends" for us.
We always tell people we spent 7 years being each others best friends, dating the wrong people, growing up, experiencing our early 20's, basically learning all the things we needed to learn so that we could be our best selves for each other.
I’m a vehicle sales consultant. He reached out to me on social media for my number bc he was going to inquire about a vehicle but never did. He wanted me, not a car😭😂🥰
We met on POF!🤦🏻♀️ In 2016 Talked on and off for a 2 years he wanted to meet me and get to know me but after a really bad relationship I was too afraid and I would ignore him and stop talking to him. Needless to say he waited patiently 2 years!! Until I was ready😭❤️ And the rest is history! By the way he never let’s me forget how I made him wait to years! Lol and he says on our wedding day he is going to let everyone know🙄😂
My fiancé and I met in middle school and we were strictly friends for years. We always had crushes on each other but we never knew how the other really felt. Then he joined the Maine Corps and was deployed to Okinawa Japan. We FaceTimed for hours, daily. Then one day, he told me that he liked me more than a friend. We explored a romantic relationship through online avenues and then he finally had the courage to ask me out. We have been together for 5 years now and plan to get married in Spring of 2021!(:
Odd story- I was in a previous engagement that was going downhill and he was supposed to be our officiant. He told me he wasn't comfortable doing the wedding and when I asked why he told me he'd had a thing for me for a while. I ended up cancelling the engagement, and a little while later we decided to give it a chance. Now 2ish years later we are getting married.
To be fair, we have been friends since we were in high school. I was actually really good friends with his older sister.
So I dated a guy who worked at Arbys, as the assistant manager, we lived together and dated for 7 years til he cheated on me with someone I let move in with us for a short time because she moved from a different state, it went down hill from there, we stayed living together but slept separate, blah blah blah.
My now fiance stepped in out of nowhere and won me over, we had been friends for 4 years or so prior because he as well worked at arby's with my ex, til that year when he got a better, hands on job. He would stay with me and comfort me even with my ex still under the same roof and we would just sit and talk and laugh all night.
April 2nd 2015 he asked me to be his girlfriend in the parking lot of bass pro lol of all places and completely random as we were headed to a bonfire with friends from there, I of course said yes!
Now 4 1/2 years later we are engaged, he asked me completely random while we were just laying in bed together, and he had the ring for a whole year waiting on the perfect moment. Now we also have bought our own home along with our puppies and I couldn't be happier!
We met through work, the first time we actually talked to each other though was at the bar after work. Him and my sister are friends so they were hanging out and I went to join and hangout with my sister. She was going to be his sober cab but wanted to leave so I said I would bring him home. Well I stupidly got drinker then him that night and we both got a ride home lol. Been inseparable ever since.
We both grew up in the same small town our whole life, so we have known each other since preschool. We dated for two years in high school, but broke up. We kept in touch though, and realized we still had those feeling about two years later but unfortunately couldn’t make it work at the time. Another year and a half later we went out as friends to catch up and 2 years later he proposed!
We met at my favorite bar! I didn’t even want to go out that night but my best friend convinced me. When I walked in he was sitting with another girl so I didn't pay much attention to him. He got up to use the bathroom and the girl he was with told me that he thinks I’m cute but he’s too shy to say anything so I made the First move and we’ve been crazy about each other ever since!
FH and I met for the first time at Nocturnis which is a local chapter of Amtgard, a national LARP group. His sister is my underbelt there and invited him along. From that first meeting, all I really remember is thinking that "he's cute..." but then reminding myself I was with someone at the time (things were tough but commitment is commitment). maybe 2 months later, my SO passed away from a heart attack (that was May 2018). I became closer friends with his sister who was pregnant at the time. In October, she invited me to his place for their joint birthday party (bdays are 3 days apart) where I met the whole family. I went home not being able to get him out of my head and told her about it thinking she'd tell me it was a bad idea but she encouraged it and arranged a hockey game where the 3 of us had a great time but she was awkward in the middle. i was head over heels but not real sure he was noticing. After a board gaming night two weeks later, we sat awkwardly side by side and I asked him for a date, to which he replied "sure. We can do that. See where it goes." 2 weeks later, first kiss blew me away. 3 months later, we were engaged and he swears now that he was wanting to ask me out but was too tired/awkward to think of the words.
So I met him in high school. His friend which was my best friend’s boyfriend at the time told me he liked me but I wasn’t feeling him at that time(to soft around the edges lol.. I was in a bad boy phase) ! After high school I would see him around town and different places. Years later I saw him on twitter and I was like the GLOW UP was REAL!!!!! I sent him my number after weeks of subtweets ! We went on a date the same night ! The rest is history !! 7 years later we are now here !!!

Sort of lol. I knew who he was because I cheered my freshman year but had to take a break my sophomore year because of an injury, and he started cheering during my sophomore year, so he was friends with my roommates boyfriend who was also on the team. I technically met him for the first time at tryouts for the following season. I thought he was very cute so my roommates boyfriend would invite him over a lot because I was too nervous to do it and then we started just going on dates and hanging out more. We started officially dating 3 months later!
I met my fiancé Darryl, in middle middle school (****) 8th grade, as a new student to a new school. We became friends fairly easy, and we continued our friendship together through high school. We have stayed in contact throughout the years because in 2015 he moved to Florida to perused a career at Disney! We were able to keep in contact through Facebook, phone calls and text messages. In 2018 he and his mom came into the store I was working at and when I saw him we re-exchanged our numbers to make sure we had the right numbers and we started texting that night. I informed him that I was going to have open heart surgery some point in 2018 just wasn’t sure when or what hospital because I had to different appointments. Darryl then proceeded to tell me he needed to tell me a secret that he had been holding on to for 22 years, which was that he had a crush on me since 8th grade. We started dating that week and have been in a long distance relationship since, he is in Florida and I’m in South Carolina, we have been able to make it work with constant communication and have been able to make plan to see each other during vacations or breaks because of my son being in school. We have been able to cherish the time we spend with each other that we get until I can move permanently down to Florida which we are hoping will be really soon!!
I went with my sister and brother in law to look at a car that my now fiancee was selling. Long story short I test drove the car for my brother in law. My FH found it to be hilarious, that my brother in law brought me to check out the car. After they closed the deal, my now FH asked me out on a date. The rest is history!
