What would you change??

Hey everyone! For any of you who were recently married, or even if you’ve been married for a while, what would you change about your wedding? I’m undecided on whether to spend the extra money and make the wedding exactly how I want, or have a smaller and more intimate wedding and spend the money on our honeymoon. So...what would you change? What are you glad that you did/had? Etc??

I should also add that over half of our guests are out of state, so I don’t really know who would travel to come anyway. And if you have any suggestions on how to ask people to get an idea of whether they would come, please let me know!

I regret spending money and time on details that didn't really matter aha. Such as having candy buffet table. I thought it'd be a hit especially given the kind of candy we had - all brand name candy. But surprisingly not many went for it at all! We had way too much candy left over.

Honestly there is nothing I would’ve changed about my actual wedding. Leading up to it there’s a lot I would’ve changed as far as setting boundaries with family members but that’s a live and learn thing. We prioritized guest experience and made sure there was plenty of good food and drinks and everyone had a great time. We skipped a lot of the smaller things no one notices. We didn’t do any signs or programs and our only decorations were centerpieces. We didn’t do a guestbook, bouquet/garter toss, or photo booth. We greeted our guests during cocktail hour and got to stay seated and enjoy our entire dinner.

My only regret was my MOH and not spending the night alone before the wedding just to decompress and have me time.
As for everything else, it was perfect as is!

Nothing. But we were pretty ruthless about what mattered to us and what didn't.
In the end, we had a smaller wedding with a beautiful venue, a theme that reflected our shared passion/reason we fell in love, an *amazing* DJ, and a swordfight skit with half our friends.
It was exactly what we wanted, we couldn't stop grinning, and we can't wait for the pro photos!
If something makes you uncomfortable or upset about spending the money, don't do it.
