What wedding garment bag you recommend for a cathedral dress?

Help!I was planning on checking my wedding for my trip but, now I am getting worried and concerned that it might get stolen. The problem is that my dress is too goofy and tickets in AA are too expensive to get one for my dress alone.Any recommendations?

I would lay it on top of any suitcases in the overhead compartment, or ask the air hostesses to look after it for you - they have a cupboard thing they can help out with.

Possible to ship your dress to your destination, rather than take it on the plane with you?

I took mine (a poofy mermaid, so it was big but not huge) in the garment bag that it came in, and the flight crew were nice enough to hang it up for me with their things - but I had been warned many times that this wasn't a guarantee. I had planned to take it in a large suitcase, with nothing else in there with it, and check it, but when I got to the airport the desk workers encouraged me to just take it into the cabin with me. You could try calling your airline for more info on what they recommend.
