What was the very first decision you made for your wedding? Was it the location, date, color scheme?? Next Question: What was the first venue you visited? Back to the Beginning: Firsts!

The venue! My FH fell in love with a venue that looked like his hometown, which happens to be Honolulu so obviously it’s beautiful. It’s booked until March 2020 except for one Friday in June, so that’s the day we grabbed. So I guess we chose the venue and then the venue chose the date.
Our wedding date(s), definitely. It had meaning to us and we had to get married on that date, everything else had to accommodate that.

First thing picked was my dress. FH wanted a long engagement and with my grandmother's memory slipping away, I want to share every big step with her that I can. Especially because Grandma T wasn't able to help Mama plan her wedding to Dad. What makes the dress even more special is that Grandma S bought my dress. We would spend every Saturday night eating pizza, watching SYTTD, and talking about my future wedding. We talked about the type of dress I'd wear and what the day would be like. She wrote it into her will that there would be some money put away for the day I went dress shopping.
We picked our original date within hours of getting engaged and then ended up moving it back because the venue we fell in love with was already booked that day
We picked our original date within hours of getting engaged but ended nup moving it back because the venue we fell in love with didn't have that day available
Our first decisions were the date and budget. I already knew I wanted May 30th, our dating anniversary, so that made it easy. We’re trying to do a frugal wedding.
So hard because we did a few things before even getting engaged! We picked out our flutes, cake topper, and wedding party gifts beforehand as a fancy store near us was going out of business. We also knew our wedding party, photographer, month, and officiant beforehand as well. I guess the first thing we picked after getting engaged was our venue which we did the weekend after our engagement
We decided on a first dance song first. I've had a playlist of songs for that for awhile and his top choice was in my list. Plus, as a dancer (as a hobby, not pro), I weighed what dance style would be easiest to teach him and show me off. Rumba is perfect and the song is a rumba.
We narrowed it down to August 2019 and then asked venues what Saturdays they had available then. The venue we picked only had 2 available Saturdays and one wouldn’t work for us so August 3, 2019 it is

We picked the month first: September, and we knew we wanted a mountain wedding either around Breckenridge or RMNP.
The Location— We decided not to get married here in San Diego and instead selected to do a fun semi-DW weekend in Las Vegas. We’re flying out there tomorrow to decide on the specific hotel.
