What to wear when you go to try on bridal gowns

Kelsey, on March 20, 2017 at 2:51 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18

Going for my first appointment to shop for wedding dresses this upcoming weekend and just trying to get any tips on what to wear specifically type of underwear, type of bra, spanks or no spanks any other good tips?

I've read that you should probably wear a strapless bra or what you're planning to wear on your wedding day (though this could depend on your dress shape, so..) But it seems the most commonly forgotten under garment is panties. Employees will be in there helping you into the dresses, so not a good day to go commando.

I wore a nude bra with removable straps and nude panties under a dress so that I could get dressed again quickly if I needed to go back out on the floor. My consultant (from Twirl Boutique) actually asked that I remove my bra though because the dresses I tried on had boob pads sewn in. The samples fit truer to size after it was removed. That being said, when I tried on dresses at Davids the consultant asked if I needed to borrow a bra (I didn't) so they seem to require it. Be prepared for anything, I guess.

I wore a nude strapless bra and nude spanx. Make sure your hair and makeup are done, too! I curled my hair and wore it down but brought a clip so I could put it up to see how that style looked with the dress as well. Have fun!!

I would definitely wear a strapless bra and appropriate underwear. To some that may be spanx to others white underwear. I like the idea of makeup and hair being done too. That is a great idea.

I ordered this from Amazon and wore it Saturday to try on. The boobs are free in the shaper, the picture shows an added nude bra. I also had on a nude bra but took it off for trying on dresses because most dresses had cups sewn in and I got a better look without a bra. The shaper was awesome. Go a size up if you get it.

I wouldn't worry about a bra, but wear nude undies you're comfortable with other people seeing you in. I wore black and you could see through it in like every dress I tried on

I had those sticky bra cups on, got them at Target, that way there was never a strap to be seen! Plus seamless nude/light colored underwear.

Strapless bra and seamless nude underwear. I personally didn't wear a thong or my 'wedding underwear' since a consultant helps you dress! You'll be naked in front of strangers so I went a little more modest

Agree with the previous posters, wear a strapless bra and seamless nude full coverage underwear. Some bridal consultants will want to help you into the dresses, some waited outside of the room and then helped close up the back. They will do whatever you are comfortable with!

I did my hair and full makeup because I wanted to look and feel my best. I wore a sticky bra because I wore a dress that day that required it. I ended up choosing a backless dress so it was perfect. I also wore boy shorts underneath. I also recommend wearing shoes similar to ones you might wear the day of. If you don't do this, its not a big deal, some places even have shoes there. I did this mainly because I'm 5'3" and all the sample dresses are crazy long on me, even with me standing on the platform.

I wore everyday clothes. I went to Davids Bridal and they gave me a bra and a slip to try on the dresses. They also had pony tail holders so if I needed one to play up my hair I could. I also just wore my everyday makeup. They put me in heals when I was on the verge of saying yes to the dress. For your alterations, you will have to wear the undergarments you are planning for the wedding including shoes. I wouldn't waste money until then.

I went with a nude strapless bra. But once I got to David's bridal they had me wear a bra and slip that they provided.

I wore basic bikini cut underwear and removed my bra for trying the dresses on. I wanted a dress I wouldn't have to wear one with.
