What to put in hotel gift bags for wedding guests?

Christy, on January 31, 2018 at 2:25 PM Posted in Planning 0 52

100 days to go and I’m brainstorming ideas for the Welcome Bags! Has anyone done welcome bags for those coming out of town and staying in the hotel block provided?

Where is everyone getting their bags in bulk? What all should we put in it? Water bottle, sample pack of Tylenol, a snack? What is everyone putting in their hotel gift bags for your wedding guests?

I got my welcome boxes from Etsy. They included:

    - caramel popcorn

    - chili lime peanuts

    - cookies

    - granola bars

    - ponytail holders

    - chapstick

    - makeup remover wipes

    - 2 bottles of water

    - a hangover kit that included Advil, Emergen-C, Shout wipes, bandaids, mouthwash, mints and a granola bar.

The boxes were placed in each guest's room before arrival along with an itinerary, a card addressed specifically to that guest and a bottle of wine.

We are having a destination wedding in Hawaii. Most of our guests booked Airbnb’s, so we are having the welcome bags placed on their seats at the ceremony. Kind of a welcome bag and stuff you probably forgot for a beach wedding lol. I got the bags on Amazon. Each bag will have sunglasses, travel sunblock (if they forgot to put sunblock on), honey roasted macadamia nuts, a bottle of water, Advil samples (for the hangover after our reception 😂), a buri fan, and more as a joke than anything else a mini bottle of Jack Daniel’s. Our group will consist of 90% tattooers and misicians so we aren’t worried about offending anyone with our wierdness!

Rushimprint.com offers bags in various sizes, colors, etc. As far as what to put inside, I think water and a snack is a good start (popcorn, pretzels, candy). Also, your local visitors/ convention bureau may offer welcome bags as well. Ours offers bags and will even deliver them to the hotels for us. They're a great resource!!
    Good luck!!

I thought about this the other day,

I want to include an itinerary of the weekend, with contact numbers for who to call before me.

I want to get a local item, and a post card. & I was thinking his and her favorite snack bags,

with a couple waters and chap stick, since its winter and will be cold.

And a little personalized thank you note.

Thanks! If it was a couple, then one per room, but if they were friends sharing a room, then one for each of them. I actually had 2 WW brides come to the wedding and share a room, so they each got their own box with a personalized card. Smiley love

I'm doing welcome bags too - since we are having a lot of OOT guests. We're including some fun Philly favorites like tastykakes. But, we're also including a direction card to the venue and a do not disturb card for their hotel room door.

I ordered bags from Amazon and got the little welcome tags off Etsy. I included bottoms of water, a number of sweet and savory snacks, and a little pack of Tylenol. I did take into consideration that a few of my guests staying in the hotel were gluten free, so I made sure their bags were filled with GF snacks and were clearly labeled so hotel staff would be able to make sure the GF guests got the GF bags at check-in. Same with children. Their bags didn't have the Tylenol, and instead had Wikki Stix and a mini coloring book/sticker kit.

These are very cute, but definitely a huge money pit. I've only ever gotten a welcome bag at a wedding once and the only things I used from it were the water bottles and snacks. All of the other stuff is great in theory, but didn't get used. If I end up doing this, it'll just be water and snacks.

We got our bags from hobby lobby. I think they were 12 in a pack for $4 if I'm remembering correctly. We put water, aspirin, granola bars, chips, cheese/crackers, and a wedding day timeline card in them

We also purchased a stamp for the bags that thanks our guests for coming. We did this because most of our guests are from out of town and are flying in

We are doing simple bags with a homemade printed thank you tag and including: bottled water, advil, a sweet snack (hers), & a salty snack (his)!

We had about 60% of our guest list from OOT, so for me welcome bags were a must.

I bought kraft paper bags and bag tags from Amazon, and also got Advil packets there. Then we went to Sam's and bought bottled water, 3 kinds of snacks (peanuts, cheezits, and cookies), and H's parents brought some candies from a local candy company near his hometown (the wedding was in my hometown). We also put in a slip of paper detailing the shuttle schedule, since the hotel didn't have a shuttle so I had to hire one.

We didn't do anything personalized, but places like oriental trading have labels you can buy to wrap around bottled water or stickers to put on the bottom of Hershey kisses, etc., if you want cutsey stuff like that.

I bought bags from Amazon, but I was low-key stressed for a few months, because they were so wrinkled and cheap-looking, I would have been a bit embarrassed to give them out. We just ordered some personalized, MUCH nicer bags from Etsy, and I can't wait to see them!

Our wedding ceremony is outdoors in Southern California, so we're doing:

    -Fun sun glasses

    -Individual sun block packets

    -Water bottles

    -See's candy hearts

-A personalized "hangover kit" with our names & wedding date, which we've stuffed with Advil & Alka-Seltzer

    Hope this helps!
