Disagree STRONGLY with writing The Smith Family, if you are inviting kids. Some idiots will interpret that as aunts, uncles, nannies, aupairs, whatever. Write

Mr. and Mrs. John Smith
Miss Jane Smith
Master John Smith, Jr.

I put each individual name so that there would NOT be any confusion.

i.e. Husband, Wife, and child Jones.
