Hey guys! What time are you guys getting married and why’d you pick that time? I’m debating on having a late afternoon wedding but was wondering what you guys chose!

I wanted a late afternoon wedding, but our venue is a historic theatre, and they have movie showings that start at 4:30, so we have to be out by 4:00. With pictures and everything we decided for a 2:00pm ceremony, and 3:00pm for the cocktail hour/reception (different location). It actually made it a lot easier to figure out a wedding day timeline knowing we had to be do the ceremony by this time.

1pm for ceremony, 2pm for cocktail hour, 3pm for reception. We're going for a bbq theme for the reception so I wanted to make sure we took advantage of the daylight.

4pm for the ceremony, so reception will start around 5:30 and go until 9pm (latest our venue allows). Our ceremony is at a church and our reception venue is about 20 minutes away.

Our wedding will start at noon with brunch to follow. He love brunch and wanted to incorporate it into our wedding and we ended up doing a "British brunch" inspired wedding. The traditional British start time for weddings is noon, so that's what we went with. It also gives us just enough time in the morning to get ready and take some pictures so we have more time with guests. We also don't have to worry about cranky kids.

We chose 4 pm because we wanted to be eating dinner by 6:30 for sure! I get hungry and knew hubby & I would have much time to nibble at cocktail hour. I could totally eat dinner at 5 or 5:30 but would die if I had to wait until 7:00!

4pm. I was hoping to have time to take pictures outside after the ceremony before it got dark. (I am getting married in the winter.)

Hoping for 4 pm - since sunset is at 4:11 that day and I want a candlelit ceremony but still be early enough for dinner at a reasonable time. It will be nice for outdoor first look pics before the ceremony (perfect lighting!) and will be beautiful for the ceremony in the church - still enough light outside to make the stained glass glow, but not so much that the candles will be overshadowed.

Our ceremony is at 1:30, with the reception immediately following in the same place. The reception will end at 5. We've also organized an official after party type gathering with one of our favorite bands playing that will start around 8:30. My grandparents have vision and mobility issues and I wanted to ensure they could be there for the duration of the ceremony and reception. We also wanted it to be more "kid friendly" since there are several kids between our own, the wedding party and our siblings. Afterwards, we'll clean up, eat dinner, leave the kids with a sitter, and then go hang out and celebrate with all of our friends and family that we couldn't invite to the ceremony due to space issues.

Ours is at 3:30. FH family has a tradition where they say it’s good luck to be going up in time to the bigger number. I’m not 100% sure the whole reasoning. But we decided to tie it in as well (:

The time we selected is 5:00 pm. This will give us plenty of time to get all last minute details done and we want a semi formal wedding. It also give our guests time to get to the ceremony site when traffic is lighter

Our ceremony will be at 4:30, cocktail from 5:30-6:30, reception 7:00-midnight, after-party until 3:00am. We are having it at a large resort hence the slight gap (1/2 hr) between ceremony and cocktail hour and then cocktail hour to reception. While everything is in relatively close walking distance and the resort will also provide shuttles between sites, we know how people tend to be stragglers.

My ceremony is at 1pm on a Saturday and the reception goes from 1:30 to 4:00! I like early afternoon so that the day doesnt feel over and we have a lot of young children that are going to be there!

Ceremony is going to start at 5:30. We only get 4.5 hours for the ceremony & reception.

So I am hoping for a 30 minute (or less) ceremony & 3.5 hours of celebrating!! Smiley smile

I chose 3:30. Because I don’t want anyone out too late and I’m trying to get to the Honeymoon! Lol

We are having ours at 4 pm. We picked this time so that we hopefully get the best outdoor lighting for our photos afterwards. We have an 2 hour window with our photographer after the ceremony and before the reception. Hopefully some beautiful sunset light.

Our start time is 10 A.M. on a Saturday and the reception is to be over at 11:30 A.M. . We are doing finger foods inside of a whole meal. We picked this because honestly most guests are tired by evening time. Plus most of our guests are 40+ yrs old and we know they’d like to enjoy their Saturday.

Later afternoon. We figure that way there won't be a lag time between the wedding and the reception. we'll have out of town guests who will probably be hungry!
