Hey guys! What time are you guys getting married and why’d you pick that time? I’m debating on having a late afternoon wedding but was wondering what you guys chose!

Our ceremony starts at 6pm. Cocktail hour and reception is immediately after.

5:00 PM ceremony time. We will only have a half hour ceremony, so with cocktail hour dinner will be served around 7 (not too late) and we will get to dance/party until 11.

Exactly haha. Your 10am ceremony sounds lovely! My FH and I are both huge brunch lovers so we would have loved to do ours even earlier to have more of a brunch reception... but we are also NOT morning people so getting us ready for a ceremony before noon was not realistic for us 😂 I would love to attend a brunch wedding though, that sounds so nice

We chose 3:30 pm, basically for the sake of logistics. We are doing a Friday wedding. And while we realized that many won't be able to attend the ceremony at 3:30 pm on a Friday - we actually liked the idea. Smaller ceremony, a little more intimate, just with the "hardcore fans" (ha) and then our big group of happy loved ones party the night away with us. Doing our ceremony at 3:30 allows us to still use the daylight (October can get chilly once the sun goes down) but not have a MASSIVE gap in time between the ceremony and reception. 3:30 - 4:15 ish for the ceremony, cocktail hour/reception at 6pm and the two venues are only a few miles apart.

We're getting married at 3:30 so we can start dinner at 5 (we have a lot of early eaters in the family) and with the time frame that we have the venue in, that would put us at an end time of 10-10:30, which works great for us.

Our ceremony will start around 415ish (to give everyone time to find their place and settle in).

2 PM for ceremony, every one gone by 9. I'm not a late night person and how embarassing would it be if I fell asleep at my own wedding?

Our ceremony was at 6pm for a couple reasons. We got married in August and planned to get married outside (ended up having to do it indoors for rain) and we didn't want people to be super hot. We also chose a later time because we wanted our reception to be at a regular dinner/dancing time.

Our ceremony will start at 5p on a Friday, followed immediately by cocktail hour then the reception will end at 10:30. I'm not a fan of going to weddings that start super early. It feels weird to me to drink and dance at a reception from like 3-7p or something. I think I’d feel obligated to fill the rest of the night with some sort of after-party to entertain everyone still.
My cousins, 4 girls, are now all married. They all got married at the same church and almost all had their receptions at the same place. They all had a catholic ceremony at 1p then had receptions at a place about an hour away from the church 😑 starting at about 3p. Dinner, drinks and dancing until only like 6p. Early afternoon weddings are just too early for me, personally. I get earlier weddings to save money by doing brunch/lunch, that’s fine. But these other weddings we had dinner at like 4p. That’s weird to me lol.

4:30 because the best lighting for photos is 1-2 hours before sunset Smiley winking We should be ready for photos at just the right time.

Our invite says 3:30. We are getting married at the same place that we are having the reception. We will gather at the home at 3:30, where guests will have a chance to grab a snack (charcuterie) and/or drink and then they will make their way down to the beach as a group, so that may happen closer to 3:45ish. I don't see the ceremony being longer than 15-20 minutes. Then the guests will make their way back to the home for cocktail hour while we finish pictures. I am guessing dinner will be somewhere around 5:30. Since it's a private residence, I have no idea what time it will end. Could go until the next morning!

We are doing 3:00 so we can have photos before dark. It’ll be in the mountains in late fall.

Destination wedding. Sunset is 5:45, so we are having the ceremony at 4:00. Plus, we have a New Year's Eve welcome party the night before, and no one will want to go any earlier than that. LOL

Our ceremony will be at 4pm because is on a Sunday and there’s service at the church @10am and 12:30pm. If not I would have a brunch reception.
