The New Mrs. Tibbetts
Dedicated May 2010

What songs for the wedding party to be announced to? And also us (the couple)?

The New Mrs. Tibbetts, on April 13, 2010 at 11:09 AM Posted in Planning 0 10

I am finding it hard to come up with a song to play while the bridal party is announced, and also once we are anounced. I was thinking of Black Eyed Peas "Get The Party Started" or "Tonight's Gonna Be A Good Night", and for us "At Last". FH suggested "It's The End of the World As We Know It" (he was joking). I am just lost. What are some good songs? What did you pick for your wedding?

    Some good songs are

"Celebration" performed by Kool & The Gang,

    "Bittersweet Symphony" performed by Verve,

    "Beautiful Day" performed by U2,

"Another One Bites The Dust" performed by Queen,

    "Always and Forever" performed byHeatwave,

"Accidentally in Love" performed by the Counting Crows,

"Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor,

"Let's Get Ready to Rumble" by Jock Jams,

"Power of Love" by Huey Lewis and The News

i wanted something different for my wedding so we used "Never Gonna Be Alone" by Nickelback.

We are doing the same song for both the wedding party and us. We are between the Black Eyed Peas "I Got A Feeling" or Chris Brown "Forever." Thinking we are doing "Forever" but it isn't finalized yet.

We all did Black Eyed Peas "tonights going to be a good night" BUT this was back in September when it first came out. I know a lot of people are probably sick of the song by now. But it is such a perfect song for the occasion!

We are doing 1234 by the Plain White T's. Would love to have it be wedding song but not slow at all.

We are doing Welcome to the Jungle by Guns N Roses. I am still not 100% about it, but I think I might just stick with it.

I am a huge White Sox fan so we are doing the intro songs they use at the games. "He's a pirate" from Pirates of the Caribbean and then "Thunderstruck" by ACDC for us. I'm so excited for that!!

We used Enter Sandman, Metallica. It went with the groom's cake, which was a surprise Metallica cake for my DH.

These are our most requested choices:

Also, many of our brides have us play one song for the bridal party and them. We play the music a little quieter while we are announcing the bridal party, and then really turn it up for the grand entrance and announcement of the bride and groom.

LOL FH and I were talking about this last night, and in all humor, he put "stroke it" on youtube and said that's what we're all entering to!!! LOL Um...NO! Still have no idea yet, because now we're mostly focasing on our "do not play" list after last night!

Though I did think it'd be cute to have the groomsmen come into "Men in Black" with sunglasses on

Why don't you discuss this with your DJ?
