What song are you walking down the aisle to?

I think I'm going to do "The Book of Love" by Peter Gabriel. I fell in love with that song from last year's Scrubs finale.

Oh forgot that we are using the book of love for our processional, when the bridal party comes out. I love that too. I swear I cried at the end of scrubs when it played haha.

FH is coming in to "The Future's So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades" by Timbuk 3. I'm walking in to "Queen of the Savages" by Magnetic Fields.

I want the ENTIRE Grey's Anatomy Season 5 soundtrack played by this wedding band from San Antoniothat played in a friend's wedding. "Take My Heart With You" by The Rescues IS my song, most definitely. Here's to hoping wedding bands in my hometown Dallas, TX would be able to pull off my wedding playlist.

Asked for samples from several wedding bands in my hometown Dallas, TX and found this particular one promising: http://www.thepictures.com. I want the ENTIRE soundtrack of Grey's Anatomy Season 5 played on my wedding day, from the ceremony to the reception. "Take MY Heart With You" by The Rescues IS definitely my song. The wedding band from San Antonio who played in my friend's wedding had the crowd dancing to a mean "Crazy Ever After". Scene looked like something straight from The OC.

I am walking down the aisle to my FH's mom singing the wedding song, it's beautiful and she has a beautiful voice. It will be very sentimental and sweet. But other songs we are using are Testify to Love by Wynonna Judd (for my wedding party), Coffee Shop by Landon Pigg (our song, it was playing when he told me he loved me for the first time) will play during the signing of the registry at the church and then Today I Met the Boy I'm Gonna Marry by Darlene Love for when we leave the church as husband and wife...I told my mom when I was little and heard that song on Father of the Bride that I would play that for her when I met the guy I would marry!

Hello all! What a wonderful variety of music. For those who are having a processional with vocals vs strictly instrumental, I would like to share some comments from previous clients:

You probably won't hear the song...you'll be a bit distracted by a few things: the feeling of walking down the aisle--"wow, it's really happening!"; looking ahead to meet your groom's eyes; being blinded from camera flashes (unless the officiant has told guests not to take flash pics). Your guests won't really hear the words either because they'll be trying to see you , or they will be the ones blinding you with the camera flashes!

If just knowing that the song is being sung, then, yes, you will catch some notes at the beginning and end, and be crying your eyes out. But, if you really want to hear and reflect on the words, then have it during the ceremony, perhaps as a musical "reading", or as background when you light the unity candle, pour sand, kneel, or just look at each other.

My post truly isn't meant to dissuade anyone, especially those getting married very soon! I just want to make sure you hear the song that has that special meaning for you.

    P.S. I haven't heard(or played) Psalm XIX in a long time!

    P.P.S J. Cain's modern version is nice!
