What song is everyone walking down the aisle to? Are you going with the traditional wedding march or something different? My two choices are: 1. Marry Me by Train 2. To Make You Feel My Love by Adele First Dance: 1. You Are The Best Thing by Ray Lamontagne

I'm walking down to "I can't wait" by Runner Runner. FH heard it and loved it so I wanted to add it in.

@Cyndi We're using I Can't Wait for our unity candle. FH also randomly heard it and put it on my FB wall, and really wanted a place for it in the wedding. Smiley smile

We're getting married in a church so going classical for the walk down the aisle, but our first dance is to "This Will Be Our Year" - it was originally a Zombies song but we're dancing to the Foo Fighters cover.

I felt weird about having a foo fighters song but when I heard it I absolutely loved it.

I didn't mean to offend, I was saying it in jest~ jokingly. Text isn't great for expressing tone, something I have trouble with. But, I was being sarcastic. The point being, it's just such a chliched song to the point that walking down the aisle to *that* song becomes sort of a joke, or a parody of what a really romantic and lovley moment should be. It's utterly unoriginal of that band to have written a song with so little creativity and crammed w/so many chliches, that I would think that EVERY bride would want something that feels less like pandering and more like something that actually means something and took some thoguht to set to music. That being said, I'm a music snob and marrying a musician, so I can be harsh when discussing music choices and preferences. I was a BM in a friends wedding last June, she walked down to "Marry me" and it was really hard to take seriousley b/c it's just SOO cheesy.

I think the same about ppl who do their father/daughter to "Butterfly Kisses"

Sara- I'm a music snob too. And although I could never walk to Marry Me, there is always one line in it that catches me,

"Promise me, you'll always be happy by my side. I promise to sing to you when all the music dies."

I constantly sing. Whether it be from memory, or making up a silly song to the kids or while I'm cleaning.. FH loves it, and it always makes me think of us since I've been left by everyone who's supposed to love me.. Just my 2 cents that not everyone picks it just because it's used a lot. Each and every song I chose pin points a certain memory for me and who/ what ever I'm doing it for.

We have string quartet for the ceremony, so I have to pick our songs for them.

Our first dance is now going to be "All My Life" by Jodeci. (Was supposed to be Speechless by Beyonce but it was a little too sexual with the moaning at the end o_O )

Ours is going to be the traditional "Here Comes the Bride" done by violin and organist. We are getting married in a church.

First Dance: Have no idea. We don't have a song, so it's hard to decide.

We are going non traditional, I'm walking down the aisle to Jim Brickman's instrumental version of Beauty and the Beast and the recessional will be Disney Fairytale Weddings version of A Whole New World.

Exactly what Ariel said. Just bc it's cliche to some doesn't make it cliche to others. It does hold meaning when I listen to it, in specific the line that Ariel mentioned. It moves me when I hear it. Maybe bc I live in Germany, it's not over played for me and I've yet to be sick of it. I have other songs I am considering but that was one of them. Honestly quite a few of the songs mentioned could be considered cliche, heck any sappy love song can be. Maybe I will walk down to Savage Garden's Truly Madly Deeply Smiley smile jk
