    Our first date was at the county fair so we have little fair touches. My fave is a head in the hole for pics. And cotton candy. Haha

    I don't know if it's exactly unique but I think me and my girls are going to be wearing Toms for our shoes. I want us to be comfy.

    Honestly, the things you've mentioned are all pretty common. A lot of old traditions are going by the wayside. I know that sounds bitchy, but those things aren't what is going to make your wedding unique. You, your FH, your ceremony, and the guests you invite make your wedding unique. Your decor, processional, etc.? It will match your taste and values, so it doesn't matter if those things are the same as, or similar to, what other people have done. Eta: what makes my wedding unique is that no other wedding will have me as a bride, FH as a groom, and the guests we invited.

    @Swin-haha yes love it

    We are not necessarily trying to be unique but some things are making it a little different: FI will be in uniform (I'm so excited, he's going to look so dashing), we plan on having mariachis at cocktail hour, our venue offers boat rides to guests on the lake throughout the night. FI plan on making our entrance to the reception from the boat to the dock where cocktail hour is being hosted. We are trying to coordinate the arch of swords (a Navy wedding tradition) as we step off the dock to the reception but we shall see how many military guests can come. FI is in charge of coordinating that.

    I'm wearing gold. Our bp consists of our children. I have 4 children from my first marriage and he has 2 from his first marriage. Fh son and daughter will stand on his side and my 3 daughters and 1 son will be on my side . I don't really think it's unique though. Eta: we're also having a make your own cannoli bar. I LOVE cannolis.

    We are adding a bourbon shot to our wedding ceremony in place of something like a broom jump or unity candle. I know we sound like a bunch of drunks, but we basically live in the distilleries around here. Bourbon was even incorporated in the proposal. Can't get away from the namesake, I suppose. Yay, Kentucky. =P

    I dont think my wedding will be unique because most things have been done before. We are not having a traditional wedding though. We are doing a ceremony and then lunch with about 25 guests.

    The only unique thing we have is the theme. I'm a 911 dispatcher and he's a law enforcement officer so we are doing a thin blue line and thin gold line theme. Haven't seen many of that particular theme out there.

    We are having our nephew dress up as the "Ring Bear". It's from HIMYM... first full series we watched on Netflix together. Plus we are getting married in a park-- and our nephew has the growl down. He'll also be passing out mini donut "rings" down the aisle... because donuts are my fave and because of my obsession I ended up ruining FH's surprise proposal. :-P
