I am so not the traditional bride & am looking for ways to make it unique yet FUN. What are you planning to do to make your wedding unique?

We're not doing anything super unique beyond having it on a Sunday afternoon. That's never been done in my family but the norm for his because they're Jewish. We're playing yubnub from return of the Jedi after we're pronounced husband and wife. The reception is going to be pretty standard. We are having lawn games outside for kids and anyone else who wants to play them. I know wedding wire hates games of any kind but we're probably going to have a ton of kids and I'd rather them be occupied outside. Plus we have a lot of non dancers who might appreciate something different. We have a DJ so there will also be dancing. Not doing tosses and speech but I think that's becoming standard.

Our unique thing is that we're not doing anything unique. Short outdoor ceremony with food and dancing under the stars. No toasts, special dances, cake feeding, etc. Just hanging out with all of our favorite people.

Other than the two of you getting married to each other, your wedding isn't going to be unique, all of the other things people have listed as being "unique" have been done before.

We are 3 months out for our Yankees themed wedding. Navy blue dresses, grey tux, peanuts and cracker jacks as a part of the center pieces. World series trophy inspired cake. Homeplate as a guestbook.

I think the most unique aspect of our wedding will be the song my daughter and I are gifting to FH and FSS. Also, I wrote a wedding ritual for my sorority that is usually performed at receptions, but since our reception is going to be a short lunch I'm asking my sorority sisters who will be in attendance to perform it during the ceremony.

I had zero desire to be unique and "cool".

I just did what I wanted. I honestly didn't give a shit if it had been done before or not.

The most noteworthy aspect of our wedding is our venues. Our ceremony is in a historic chapel and our reception is in a historic roundhouse, that is now a craft brewery. Both buildings were built in the 1800s.

A tropical vibe wedding, in April, in Northern Colorado, you bet! But really, nothing crazy unique. We are skipping some traditions, going for a different decor look than what is common in my area, and just trying to remain as true to ourselves and our relationship as possible. We want to be comfortable and happy and we want our guests to feel the same! We are handing out artisan popsicles as a late night snack, which I personally haven't experienced at a wedding before, but I know it's happened elsewhere in the world. Pretty stoked about it!

Your day will feel you need to you no matter what. Especially in the personalized touches from both you and future hubby.

I would say a lot of my wedding isn't "traditional". Is there even a definition for a traditional wedding anymore? We are getting married in a barn from the 1800s (that has been restored). I am trying to make everything fun and relaxed since I hate stressing.

I used to think that FH and I were non-traditional. But we are having a traditional religious ceremony, we are doing confetti toss, we're doing the garter and bouquet toss, we're doing the wedding speeches, we're doing the first dance and the father/daughter dance.

Our officiant is female & my MOH is male which is very non-traditional in South Africa.

We do have some unique elements that represent us (bringing in our geeky sides), but I don't think I would call our wedding totally unique.

I'm so over this idea that your wedding needs to be unique. Nope, I'm totally boring, I guess. There are lots of things I'm excited about, because they reflect who we are. But none of it is truly unique. And I'm cool with that.
