What kind of wedding band for a 3 stone engagement ring?

Debbie, on July 25, 2014 at 10:04 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 36

Hi ladies! I have a 3 stone engagement ring and I just can't seem to find a wedding band that I would like with it! Keep in mind I haven't physically tried any on but from searches that I've done, I wouldn't even know what type to look for. Any of you have a 3 stone ring, what kind of band are you getting? And if you already have a band, can I see a picture? Thanks!!

I have a three stone ring and after trying tons on, I found the perfect contoured ring that works. That's going to be your best bet, but every contoured ring is slightly different, so you'll have to try them on to see what works. Hope that helps!

Mine is sort of like a three stone ring and I also found a contoured ring that works. At one store I went, nothing worked and they said they could do a custom fit but it was way more than I wanted to spend. I ended up going to Kay's and finding this one that worked perfectly and was about 1/2 the cost of a custom.

So i don't have a three stone ring per say, but it has the same shape as one! when I was first looking at it, I was confused on what kind of band to get, too! in fact i only decided on the engagement ring once i figured out what the band would be Smiley smile (FH didn't want to be responsible for picking my ring Smiley winking )

I got a simple band with no curve or anything, I'm so picky & I'm not a huge fan of curved rings! & it happens that it's half of what my engagement ring's band size is...it's one row of diamonds instead of two! at first, the guy at the store told me I could take a notch out of the bottom of my engagement ring so I could slide the band right up underneath my engagement ring...but I love how it looks separated! & i'm nervous about taking a notch out, not gonna lie! lol.

great thing is that the band was like $100! Smiley smile

I'm having the same problem. I'm just going to have to keep trying! Or end up with a plain white gold band, I think.

Kendra, your ring is beautiful! And Katie, yours is beautiful too. It'll look sooo pretty with that band!

My ring doesn't have diamonds going down the sides, it's just the 3 stones. I think that's what throws it off when looking for bands. But I'll just have to try them on till I find it. I'll definitely keep the contour bands in mind though

Here's a picture of mine to get a better idea

Beautiful!!! & it looks like it is straight on the sides, like you could put a straight band next to it and it would fit right up next to it...am I right? I can't tell completely from the picture! But I found a picture of a ring similar to yours (i think!) with a diamond band! I think the diamond band with the three stones by itself is so striking & beautiful! Very classy!

Plus, if you ever want to wear just your wedding band by itself you have a little bit of bling Smiley winking

Thank you and that's true Kendra! I've seen some like the band you posted but instead of diamonds going all the way down, it's just in the middle and the. It goes straight down like my engagement ring. I definitely want some of that bling since I'm a nurse I'll just wear my band because the gloves are always getting stuck when I take them off so I'm afraid I'll loose my ring one day!

    Thanks for all the help!

We've been engaged 3 years. Didn't plan it that way... just happened. My grandmother died the year we planned on getting married. And there wasn't much talk of a wedding the following year... and it's been one thing after another.

Anyway, my point is we've had 3 YEARS to look at prospects for my 3 stone ring. To add to the complications, my center stone if a marquise. We've looked at an enhancer, a contour or two or three... lol, a diamond band, etc... In the end the manager told me to flip a basic, simple diamond band around. I like a classic, simple fee. The narrow, taper band in back fit perfectly against my ring, and was thin enough the bottom point of my marquise didn't disappear!! And when I turn my hand over, I have just a little *pop* of sparkle!! I LOVE it. I went with rose gold to compliment the white gold of my e-ring Smiley smile

Mine came with a matching diamond wedder but I decided it was too matchy-matchy so I went with a plain platinum band. It's quite thin and flat so it sits right underneath the halo stones around the centre stones.

I have a 3 stone engagement and had a really hard time finding a band for it. Having one custom made was quoted to me at around $1400 which was way more than I wanted to spend. I actually just bought our rings today! I ended up going with something that was different enough that a non-perfect fit still looked just fine. This is the band that I ended up with below.

Cutesybuttons, that's a beautiful band. That's what I kind of have in mind too

Mrs Wade that's a good idea and I looove the rose gold! When I got engaged rose gold wasn't "in style" yet if not I would have made sure he knew I wanted a rose gold ring!

Shannon your ring is so beautiful! I think a plain band might be another option for me too

We will have the same wedding anni Smiley smile I got married on 5/23 this year! I have a 3 stone ring as well.. it was hard to find a band that didn't take away from the ring itself.. but I second Kendra's suggestion to get one with diamonds.. This is what mine looks like!

Hey date twin! I'd really suggest going in to a jeweler and just trying some on! I had shopped online but I wasn't sure about anything until I went into a store and tried a few on. Even if you're not planning on buying one that day, I've found that the salespeople are still happy to help (though I made sure to tell them ahead of time that I wasn't going to buy one then). The salespeople are usually very knowledgeable, too, so they'd be able to pick some rings that would look nice with your band.

One word of advice though - know your budget before you go and try them on, because you don't want to end up falling in love with a ring that you can't afford.

I actually went to Shane Co the other day to get my engagement ring cleaned, and I figured I might as well try on some bands while I was there. I was SO happy I finally found the band I want, and it looked PERFECT with my ring. And it's less expensive than I thought it would be!

First photo is my engagement ring, and the second is the stock photo of the band I found. I was dumb and didn't take pictures with the band Smiley sad

Yay I kept seeing people with 5/24 dates but not 5/23 Kelly! I'll definitely have to start doing that so I can give FH some options Smiley winking
