What kind of stuff should you put on your wedding registry?

Vilomar Wedding, on July 8, 2016 at 9:38 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 11

I don't know what to put on our wedding registry! lol... What is too expensive? What is not appropriate? What kind of stuff is useful in the long run? What are some must haves? So far I have kitchen stuff but what else? What stores are a middle ground money wise - not too much not too cheap? Feedback appreciated!!

Bed Bath and Beyond is a good choice. You can hit every price range. It's good to have multiple gifts in each price range. Bed Bath and Beyond will even give you a brochure that has different price ranges listed. The majority of my registry is kitchen stuff, but we also have towels, bedding, picture frames, wicker baskets, etc.

I put the sheets that I have purchased for myself on there. I thought they might be too much - $200 a set. But both sets I put on there got bought as one of my first items - i saw when i was updating discontinued items.

I tried for gifts between 20-200 dollars. But i also put a rumba on there - my aunts and uncles may buy a group gift.

You can also register through Amazon. Not sure on the price range but I agree with TMNT Bride: having gifts in every price range would allow guests to still get gifts no matter their budget.

Seeing as how we have been living together for a while now, there are not too many things we "need", but there are a lot of things we want/would like to upgrade. We will have the most un-wedding-wedding registry ever, seeing as how we are hunters and campers and are registering for items related to that rather than the house. We still have some house stuff (sheets, towels, new plates, etc), but the majority is camping/hunting gear, because that is just who we are!

That being said, I second having items in all price ranges, I like PP's range, $20-200, with maybe one "big ticket" item on there for a possible group gift. Our guest list is on the bigger side, so we may have two, but a variety of prices is a very good idea.

We registered at Wal-mart and Target and the most expensive thing on there was a $300.00 mattress. (I'm honestly not even sure if that's acceptable) but considering FH and I still live with a housemate we'll need apartment stuff so we put a lot of cookware, bedding and bath items and picture frames. I love picture frames so that was one of the things I really wanted on ours.

The least expensive item is $5.00 and it goes from there with most of the stuff under $100.00. Lots of people suggest spreading out the price range and it's a really good idea.

Same questions I had especially since we already live together. I would put some high end items and some low costs to give people options.

Macy's is good. You can register for linens like new sheets, bedding, and towels. I registered for a bunch of foodie stuff since I love to cook. You can pick some pretty home decor items like vases, picture frames, crystal bowls, etc. You'll also need glassware so bar glasses and everyday glasses. You can also register for fine and casual china, everyday and fine flatware, and stemware. Hope this helps! Also, it's a good time to register for a bunch of monogrammed stuff!!!

We did Kohl's and Crate and Barrel. What to register for..... sheets, pillows, blankets, comforter, quilts, silverware (stainless), everyday dishes and glasses. If you have an entertainment area outside and/or a pool, I would also register for Melamine dishes and glassware because you can't take glass to the pool. Towels, rugs, shower curtain, curtains and accessories for the bathroom. Dish towels, dish cloths/sponges, sink protector, drying mat, pot holder, pots and pans, cutting boards, cutting knives, knife sharpener, canisters, Keurig and refillable K-cups. I would get the Keurig that has both cup and carafe and register for carafe as well. Can opener, vegetable peeler, slotted and non-slotted spoons, spatulas, whisk, turners, pizza cutter, pizza stone, baking pans and dishes. You might want to think about registering for Pampered Chef if you like their products. Drawer organizers come in very handy in the kitchen as well.

We had to register twice. Our registry was completely empty after the showers. We didn't register for fine china, silver or cut crystal because we just don't use those things where we live. Everything we registered for, we got. We registered for anything from $2.00 up to $500. We went through all of our things as we were combining two households and decided what we would like new and what we didn't have that would be nice to have. Then we made sure there were things at both ends of the spectrum cost wise.
