What Kind of Favor Would You Want?

Okay, I know the general consensus on favors is they are totally unnecessary. But FH and I still have not made up our minds about if we will do them or not (we have less than 20 people at our wedding, so it's not like it would be very expensive). If we do favors, we may somehow incorporate...

Okay, I know the general consensus on favors is they are totally unnecessary. But FH and I still have not made up our minds about if we will do them or not (we have less than 20 people at our wedding, so it's not like it would be very expensive). If we do favors, we may somehow incorporate gaming/movies or something. We don't have a gaming "theme," but we are doing little touches where we can.

SO, the actual question I want to ask is: Would you prefer something edible or something useful as a wedding favor?

We're doing heart-shaped measuring spoons for the women and bottle openers for the men, nothing personalized. Hoping people will find those useful!

Also have little favor bags and candy on the tables for people to take as the edible part too

I'm going to agree w/ PP about edible items. One of the last weddings FH and I attended had multiple favors for some reason. The M&M baggies on the tables were eaten by many guests throughout the night. The koozies with their names and wedding date printed on them were mostly left on tables. The groom has been handing the leftover koozies out to random people for weeks just trying to get rid of them.

Edible. At two different weddings, I got little tin cookie cutters. Everybody goes "how cute" but mine came home and got shoved in a drawer, never used. And I bake!

Our favors will be chocolates from the chocolatier in our town.

Edible! I actually like your FH's mug idea! As long as it didn't have the wedding date or your names.

But then I don't know what you'd put on it lol

Oh man, the succulents got me thinking that instead is skipping favors I could get a bunch of dwarf orchids to put out, and take home any that got left behind. ...muahahaha....naw, my better half already lets me fill up the apartment with an absurd amount of plants. *wistful sigh* I do love the little bitty ones though!

Edible for sure. Same as the ladies said above, unfortunately these things usually get tucked away. I am in the same boat; 22 people total for the wedding to keep the costs from sky rocketing!

Edible! My favorite favor I've seen was a mini bottle of champagne that had a tag that said something about "Have one more drink on us."

I vote edible, but then again I have chosen to do Hershey's kisses and the photo from our photo booth is the other favor.

Edible or Swarovski crystal figurines (kidding on the crystal...it's something I saw on some six figure wedding show and have always coveted). Koozies, a single, monogrammed anything with a wedding date, plants, birdseed packets, and home made soaps might make it to my purse, but eventually, you're going to force me to do something I hate doing when it comes to perfectly good items -- which is to throw them in the trash. Sorry. I'd smile at Hershey Kisses in an organza bag, but inexpensive, material favors just make me conflicted. I want to leave them behind, but I don't want to hurt the couple's feelings...

@Centerpiece we thought about Swarovski crystal figurines, but I feel like they're way overdone! Smiley winking

We are doing a send off brunch for our OOT guests and we are getting travel mugs with a cute saying on them in our wedding colors. Nothing personalized or girly. A lot of our OOT friends work onsite with FH at a remote mine in NM. They use the heck out of travel mugs. We literally have them from the Honda dealership, the dentist, and always Starbucks when they go on clearance. We need them every day of the week. And that way guests can take coffee to go when they hit the road back home. And they're $2.21 each so if they get left behind, fall apart or get trashed after the trip, it's whatever.

I'm giving all my guests handmade soap...There's a place here in Alaska that makes soap out of snow and it's really softening and smells amazing...it's relatively inexpensive and it's something everyone can use, I personally don't like edible favors, I like getting stuff that I can use over and over again that isn't personalized, but if someone were to give me a personalized gift I'd put it up with all my other little trinkets that I inherited when my mom passed away.

Edible, or both. We're doing little heart shaped tins of custom M&Ms and scrolls that indicate a donation to charity has been made in the guest's honor.

Edible! We had two favors. Cupcakes (which everyone took) and personalized pint glasses. We used the pint glasses as escort cards and many people left them. The pint glasses fit with our wedding being in a brewery and were one of the only things DH insisted on. Personally, I prefer edible favors.

I vote edible as well. I also think it's nice if the edible thing is specific to your location or one of the things you guys love to eat together.

Mario cookies would definitely be cute too!!

Edible for sure. Unless it's matches then I'd use those.
