What Kind of Favor Would You Want?

Okay, I know the general consensus on favors is they are totally unnecessary. But FH and I still have not made up our minds about if we will do them or not (we have less than 20 people at our wedding, so it's not like it would be very expensive). If we do favors, we may somehow incorporate...

Okay, I know the general consensus on favors is they are totally unnecessary. But FH and I still have not made up our minds about if we will do them or not (we have less than 20 people at our wedding, so it's not like it would be very expensive). If we do favors, we may somehow incorporate gaming/movies or something. We don't have a gaming "theme," but we are doing little touches where we can.

SO, the actual question I want to ask is: Would you prefer something edible or something useful as a wedding favor?

I've seen Xbox controller cake pops that were really cute as well as brownies that looked like Tetris!

So i am in the same position...I decided to go with a candle heart and personalized matches. We are going to have so much food at our wedding as well as cake for guests to take home. If you check out www.efavormart.com they have some pretty decently priced stuff.

@Kiwi Yeah, it ends up smelling like something caught on fire (which, of course, it did) but it gets the job done! haha.

I would prefer something edible, but I did receive glass coasters from a wedding which I still use.

I prefer useful favors. I don't like edible favors in general for the most part. I like favors like bottle openers, wine stoppers, etc. I don't love getting single wine glasses because that's an item that to me is meant as part of a set so one doesn't seem of much use. A mug or something would be better. For your theme I would do a deck of cards!

I may get some backlash on this but we are doing wedding favors. We're doing little succulents. We'll have them on a table with a little sign that says "thank you for watching our love grow." I LOVE succulents and found and Etsy seller that sells them in bulk. We'll also be giving them per family and not per guest. So each household will get their own little plant. It will cost us about $100 but it's something I really want to do and have budgeted for.

I definitely wouldn't do anything personalized to your wedding ALTHOUGH I was at a wedding this past weekend where their favors were mini candles with personalized matches. I thought that was cute because you're getting a candle that isn't personalized.

Alissa - Even if we did do something that wasn't edible, I would probably get a design on it as opposed to our names and stuff. As for your succulents, I'm biased. I love them, too! I would definitely enjoy having one.

As far as the succulents go if people don't take any it's more succulents for me! >D

Edible. My MOH did cookies for her wedding (she worked at a bakery and the ladies at the bakery did her cake and cookies as a gift.) I freaking loved the heck out of them!

ETA: I have also never seen a useful favor except ones you can eat as a midnight snack Smiley smile

Edible, it is more than likely to be used, as opposed to something monogrammed.
