We went super minimalist with our wedding and reception. For the ceremony there were no decorations and we used the church we attend for free. I used fake flowers for our bouquets, boutonnieres, etc and did those myself. We hosted our reception in a private room at a restaurant. They provided centerpieces. We did a fixed menu. Our wedding rings are simple, no DJ... stuff like that.
For our honeymoon we did a staycation at a nice hotel with a Jacuzzi suite for the weekend. Add strawberries, champagne, and bubbles and it was heaven. We're not hard to please though. We planned on spending the weekend in bed blocking out the world. It was magnificent.
Ours will likely be about $10k including everything when all and done. About 60 ppl, open bar, buffet. We eliminated a ton of stuff and some vendors are friends (photo/video/djs) so we got great rates. We are not doing transportation and a lot of items that are typical - STDs, invitations, favors, etc. Venue comes w everything including dessert. I'm splurging on hair make up but that's about it

Hi. I'm trying desperately to stick to a 5k budget with 50 people. Where are you located to be able to stick to that budget. I'm in Atlanta and that budget is looking like it's going to be hard to stick to but I'm trying so hard to.

I live in Las Vegas. My budget is $5,000 for 100 people. It helps that I have a cousin making the cake, my uncle doing my hair, food at my venue depending on the option I go with is only $10-$13 a plate. Plus I have a friend who is a photographer doing the pictures(so getting a discount). My soon to be sisters-in-law is officiating the wedding. My fiancé and I are having our wedding and reception at an Elks lodge. Just look at your family and friends and see if any of them could contribute to making the cake, photography, hair/nails, etc.
