We are also getting married in Upstate NY and I can totally relate. I thought staying "local" would be cheaper but it seems to end up about the same. We started with a 10k budget for 100 guests but in reality it looks like it will be 18k. We are having a plated dinner with open bar and a 5 piece band on a Saturday night. I admit, those are all areas where I could have picked a less expensive option but, when planning a party for a mixed crowd of older and younger people/friends and relatives, that's what seemed the most important. I tried to save by picking the least expensive venue we toured, not having a bridal party beyond my sister and a flower girl, and doing less with photography, no video but I even if I save money in one area the other things add up.
Ours is $26k for 65 - does not include my attire ($2k), our rings ($1k), or honeymoon (??? - our registry is strictly a honeyfund & we haven't picked a specific trip because we want to keep it spontaneous so it will depend on how much we get)

I couldn’t agree more. My eyes are popping out of my head as I scroll down the feed. I’m wondering if it’s the geographical thing 🤔 we’re getting married and NYC and the numbers just keep adding up.
We're getting married this June and planning on $3,500-$4,000 max., minus rings (already bought) and FH's attire (using his Army dress blues)! We're doing a smaller wedding (inviting about 75, hoping for about 55-60 to actually come) in the Midwest so budgeting is a little smaller than in some other places! Biggest cost is venue (ceremony and reception in same place), but it comes with most of our decorations and we get it for the entire day. We'll be DIY-ing a LOT of other decor to save costs. Making our own invites at home to save as well. Also planning on renting speakers to use for music instead of hiring a band and looking to save with a nice but affordable caterer! Most of our costs will be the venue, catering, the cake, photography, bridal attire and accessories, hair, and some small things here and there. Not having a bridal party and only have FH's best man is certainly helping us save too!

$6,000-$8,500 budget here. We want an amazing and simple outdoor wedding and are inviting about 50-70 people.
We said 20K was our budget. We found an all inclusive venue for 16K for 80 guest but that doesn't include photography or extras like donut station. It includes a $500 credit for invitations or wedding accessories but to be honest I don't like any of them so I'm asking if that $500 can be applied somewhere else. My sister is a graphic designer so she's making our save the dates and wedding invites.
We were aiming for 15k for about 80 people. We are now around 20k for 100 people. We weren’t the best at keeping to budget...definitely embarrassing as someone who handles a department budget at work 😅
Not including dresses, rings and honeymoon it’ll be about 45k for 200 people. I spent about 9k on dresses. 2k on FH ring and wedding present and we haven’t worked our honeymoon details yet. Well probably have that settled early spring. Also haven’t booked a place for my bridal shower but I want to put aside about 2k for that.

Hey, I know exactly what you mean. My wedding is in Long Island and its like everyday there is another thing I have to pay for. I suggest you guys try Groupon for your honeymoon. They have excellent deals even if you just go away for the weekend you should!!!
Our wedding budget is 25K. So far were at about . We're having an all inclusive for 80 and it ended up being 16,300 which included ceremony, venue, food, open bar, cake, flowers & decorations for ceremony and venue, DJ, photo booth, and the officiant. My dress, the photographer, bouquets & boutenire, and a donut bar brought it to $21. We shall see if we go over.
Oh okay looks like we are close to about $20k for 120 than we planned, but this is between the both of us; wedding outfits, and venue, are included, but I fell for the old "Invitations/floral "so called package" deal 🤦🏾♀️ the invitations are nice. The floral is a work- in-progress? How much do we pay soloists, and Officiant, who happens to be our Pastor? Then there is the DJ, and Photographer still...ugg
Around 25k-28k depending on how many of our 156 invites guests come. This is not including honeymoon, rings, dress, rehearsal dinner or outfits for bridal shower and rehearsal. Include all that and we’re in for over 50k easily. Weddings are absolutely ridiculous
Our budget is $30k for our destination wedding of 50 people ( including rings and attire)and $5k for engagement party and then we have honeymoon I won’t say the price of that cause I don’t want to cause anyone any heart attacks. Lol 😂
