Hi everyone! my FH and I are going to begin meeting with florists this Saturday and I am a little unsure of what the going rate for flowers is. I've asked some friends that have gotten married over the past few years and 3.5k is the average response that I've gotten. I am in the NYC/LI area so I know that prices can be inflated abound here, but any feed back is GREATLY appreciated!!! And if any one has any recommendations for florists on LI (we're getting married at Westbury Manor in Westbury, LI) that would also be GREATLY APPRECIATED =D

Flowers can be just expensive in general. I live in Vancouver BC which is also one of the more expensive places to get married in Canada. I think I got lucky with my flowers as my florist is giving us a great deal since he knows my FMIL. I think I am paying about $1200 from bouquets to bouts to centerpieces to altar pieces and church pews and head table arrangement. Luckily my church is not requiring me to keep any flowers there so I can use my flowers for my reception to decorate whatever. I also got to save some money on my centerpieces since my florist said that if I find my own vases, he will give me the centerpiece flowers for half price so that saved me $150. My centerpieces look similiar to the picture but the flowers are going to be a light pink.

Other places I went to when I was looking for a florist were quoting me about $**** for flowers and the centerpieces were not even very big in size and will not even be noticed on the tables. I nearly had a heart attack. I really did not want to pay more than $1000 for my flowers but I am happy with what I got in the end.

I met with our florist and went a little overboard and was quoted $2000. I was shocked and changed up some things (like exclude peonies & have smaller arrangements) and she got it down to $1300. I have heard that typically it should cost 10% of the entire wedding - which is pretty accurate for us.

I planned to DIY my flowers until I found out in Cincinnati you can actually find some places that are reasonable...

3 BM bouquets with sparkle accents

1 toss away bouquet (I have a brooch bouquet)

    6 corsages

    7 boutonnieres

    Petals for Flower girls

And a partridge in a pear tree (LOL kidding))

TOTAL $310 - SCORE!! Now I no longer have to DIY

I am only doing red roses (aside from mother corsages) because I am having a black and white wedding with pop of red in flowers

We're paying about $2500 for flowers. We're in the Atlanta area so that could make a pretty big difference in what we're getting versus what you'd get in NY. I dunno.

Anyway, our flowers consist of my bouquet, 6 BM bouquets, my FH's bout, 5 additional groomsmen bouts, bouts for 2 dads and 3 grandfathers and my great uncle, corsages for our moms, 3 grandmothers, and my great aunt, a small bout for the ring bearer, a small corsage for the flower girl, ceremony decor which includes a large elaborately decorated arch and small bouquets hanging in jars down the aisle, 3 tall centerpieces, a large display centerpiece in our buffet, and a decorated stair railing. We're recycling the BM bouquets as low centerpieces, and using black lanterns and candles to cover the remaining tables (about 4 tables), and recyling the jars from the ceremony to decorate the area our cocktail hour will be held in.

I'm going with oranges, yellows, reds & possibly some purple. Something along these lines is what I'm shooting for. Ordering most likely from globalrose.com. They seem to be really nicely priced & a variety of flowers to order. They also have good reviews too

My bm is having her wedding in Li and is paying about 2500 for flowers but her wedding is going to have 200 plus guests. If your wedding is smaller (which means less centerpieces needed), then you can definitely find someone for about 2k. Make sure you stick to your budget and be clear. I've have florists use my whole budget on the flowers and forget the vase rental and delivery charges so the amount drastically increased. Good luck!

Westbury Manor is a gorgeous venue that really doesn't meed a lot of decor. I'd ask them who they recommend because those florists will be familiar with the venue and know what should be done and what doesn't have to be done. My last wedding there had silver candelabras draped with ivy and minimal flowers; it was very effective.

In this area; 200+ for bride bouquets, 75-150 for BM, 20. for bouts, 100-400 per table.

There really isn't an "average" price since there are so many factors.

I paid about $500 for all my flowers, but then they are silk and all our centerpieces were DIY.

@Celia =) thank you! that's one of the reasons that we chose the venue because it is GORGEOUS and the in house florists have it seasonal decorated all year round. The florists that we're meeting are actually 2 of their preferred vendors, then after we're meeting their in house florists. Those prices that you just mentioned are what I heard from another bride who got married there! Now i just really need to get my thoughts together before I go to these people so I don't waste their time

I originally budgeted $5k for flowers, than upped the budget because of the space we have to cover (it's an outdoor/tent wedding). But now I've decided to cut my flower budget in half and using lots of candles everywhere. So I'm hoping to spend about $3k for flowers. That includes, bouquets, bouts, centerpieces, ceremony decor, etc

Wow! Flower prices are blowing my mind, but thanks for opening my eyes. I'll be sure to be more modest elsewhere in our budget so that I can get a good amount of gorgeous flowers. I'll definitely be using some candles on half the tables as well as many of you wise womenSmiley winking

Jaclyn colors were coral, beige white and turquoise. The green in the centerpieces was lily grass and we did have a lot of green accents as well throughout the flowers. Hard to see but we had turquoise sea glass in the bottom of the cylinders.

I was just quoted about 1700 from our florist for my vision but she thinks we can cut here and there to get down to our ideal budget of 1500. That's my bouquet, 5 BM bouquet, 13 boutineers, 5 corsages, 20 centerpieces, toss bouquet, flowers for cake, petals for flower girl, and archway decoration.

Also I'm in STL where cost of living is fairly low for a big metropolis.
