Hi everyone! my FH and I are going to begin meeting with florists this Saturday and I am a little unsure of what the going rate for flowers is. I've asked some friends that have gotten married over the past few years and 3.5k is the average response that I've gotten. I am in the NYC/LI area so I know that prices can be inflated abound here, but any feed back is GREATLY appreciated!!! And if any one has any recommendations for florists on LI (we're getting married at Westbury Manor in Westbury, LI) that would also be GREATLY APPRECIATED =D

I was just got a quote today that made me not hate the idea of flowers (keep in mind thought, my wedding party is 5 people):

Bridal Bouquet with 18-24 roses, up to three colors: $110

MOH Bouquet with 12-18 roses, up to three colors: $90

    3 Rose Boutonnieres: $10 each

    Toss bouquet: FREE

We have my bouquet, 7 bridesmaid bouquets, 15 centerpieces (Tall candelabras), pew bows with flowers, arrangements for the church, corsages and boutonniers for the parents and grandparents, and Ring Bearers. A kissing ball for the flower girl. Petals on the tables, flowers for the gift table and about 10 mini centerpieces for high top tables we will have during cocktail hour.

I'm in Central NJ. The above is costing me about $2700. She was one of the cheaper florists that I met with, and all of her work was beautiful. I HIGHLY recommend Allure Floral Design in Old Bridge, NJ. I believe she will go out to LI. Her delivery fee is based on mileage, but if you pay in cash that helps with the tax ;-)

Please let me know if you would like her contact information!

We're getting married on Long Island and We're paying $1400 for my bouquet, five bridesmaid bouquets, twelve boutineers, and 14 centerpieces. We're using someone who does it out of her house so were saving a lot of money that way.

I haven't gotten to that part myself yet, but I did find this place on Facebook. I liked their page although I am not in Brooklyn because they have really nice pieces they posted.

I attached a pic for you they had on FB with some package deals. It may be a little far for you, but it's worth checking out

A friend (not close) of my mom owns a wedding florist business out of her home. I was always going to have her do it and then several weeks ago (less than 2 months out from the wedding) she totally flaked and didn't show up for a scheduled mtg. I panicked and contacted a bunch of florist to try to get them to give me a quote. I was looking for: 1 bouquet, 2 mini bouquets (for bridal party consisting of mine and FH's daughters), 3 boutonnieres, decorated archway/arrangements for ceremony, 12 centerpieces- simple submerged flowers. I got prices that started around $1200 plus delivery and went way up from there.

Needless to say that when I finally met with the original florist and she quoted me $1100 for everything INCLUDING rental chairs for the ceremony that were going to cost me $3/per, I am going with her!

We're using Platinum Floral. Her name is Monique and does all her work out of her home. She has a facebook page. I was a little hesitant at first but she made me a sample and it was gorgeous. We're doing dark purple hydrangeas and purple and red roses.

I just signed my contract and for $2,000 I get

    1 bridal bouquet

    1 toss bouquet

    5 BM bouquets

    2 mother corsages

    3 grandmother corsages

    9 boutonnieres

    2 altar arrangements

    flower petals for the aisle

    14 low centerpieces

    and one placecard table arrangement

I had a garden party inspiration so I wanted to go big with the flowers and I think I got a pretty decent deal for all I'm getting.

It also depends on the type of flowers you want, in season/lower cost flowers will obviously give you more for 2,000 versus out of season/more expensive. Roses cost a lot almost always. There was a blog floating around about different types of flowers and their cost vs ones that are similar that cost less. If I can find it I'll post the link.
