What is something you wish you would have done.

In hindsight, what do you wish that you had done that you overlooked or ignored? Is there a last minute purchase you should have gone for but forgot?

    Big thing:

Videographer. I will say this every single time this question comes up.

    Little things:

Boutonniere for the reverend. He brought his own - it was a pink rose, and all of our roses were red and cream. The annoying thing is that we HAD an extra boutonniere, just no one thought of it, and it annoys me when I see that pink rose in the photos knowing there was a red one twenty feet away in the bride prep room.
Wish I'd had our vows put on something pretty after the wedding. His vows were a comedy of errors. He wrote them on an index card and, in the chaos of the day, lost the card. So while he was driving to the venue, he called me in a panic that he couldn't find them. I wrote them on the back of a CVS receipt (the only paper we could find) and had my mom run them out to him when he got there. When we moved out of our house some five or six years later, I actually found the lost index card. (I kept it.) But I do wish we'd had them calligraphed and framed or something pretty. I plan to do that this time.

Getting a 2nd shooter-my photographer said he could handle it but there were several photo ops that were missed.

I wanted more of the expression on his face when he first saw me. I only have 1 & its blurry. I wanted a pick of our rings with my flowers-didn't get it.

Honestly I don’t regret a single thing BUT if I had unlimited funds I think I would hire a day of coordinator.

I don’t have any regrets. If we had extra funds we would have done a floor wrap for our reception. The space was beautiful and the hardwood floor was such a stand out lol

Prompting my dad to shake Hubs' hand after following me down the aisle, especially since his dad has passed. However, there are railroad tracks a few miles from our venue that I never realized were there...or active. Later in the ceremony, there was a train whistle so perfectly timed that I can't describe it. It was literally like music from "on high." If those two had done a handshake or hug, the whistle would have interrupted the Reverend or right as we began our vows, so it all worked out like it was supposed to.

I've never actually heard of giving the reverend/celebrant a bout!

I just went and looked at our celebrant's photo gallery, and she doesn't appear to have been given a matching corsage for any of her weddings, which makes me wonder if it's common place where you are to do that? In most weddings with reverends I've seen, they tend to be wearing the stole/vestment thing that goes over the lapels of a jacket too, so where would the bout even go?

That said, I would much prefer matching ones too, to non matching!

The reverend we hired didn't wear a stole - it was a simple robe, presumably because although he was a reverend, it was a non-religious/secular ceremony. The boutonniere was pinned to his left breast. I'm not sure if it's common or not, or if it was a tradition of his own (perhaps because for a non-religious ceremony he wasn't wearing the stole and his robes seemed too simple without it?)

I wish I would have prioritized who I spent time with during the cocktail hour/ reception! I would have focused on spending time with people I knew would/assumed would leave earlier in the night. But, these are things you don't realize until the wedding is over. The day goes so fast it's hard to process!
