What is a "Best Wishes" dance?

Glenn, on January 1, 2012 at 5:09 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

We are filling out our DJ paperwork and it's asking if we want a "Best Wishes" dance, we have no idea what this is so probably won't do it, but still want to know what it is!

Did it also list the money dance? I would think a "Best Wishes" dance would be the same thing...

Maybe it's the last song of the night?

Yeah, also listed the money dance. I just never heard of best wishes, obviously we won't do something we've never heard of but just curious.

Yeah, we reached out to him too, just trying to see if others knew.

It seems to be the same as the Dollar Dance - just a different name.

Weird that it lists both on your request form.

"A tradition of guests wishing the Bride and Groom well by donation money to take a turn dancing with the Bride and/or Groom."

This is what the DJ said when we asked him:

The Best Wishes Dance is a dance in which the DJ/MC invites everyone on the dance floor to dance with the newlyweds for many years of happiness and health. I highly recommend this dance as a transitional tool to get everyone up to dance after dinner usually after the parent dances (The First party song). It should be a dance song that you know everyone will like and get up to dance to.

he didn't mention any money though...

Niseey D....Since it doesn't involve money, I like the idea. It is a nice transition. With some crowds, probably not yours and def not mine, perhaps it is needed.

Hmm cute idea, wonder if it actually works to get everyone out and whether its supposed to be a slow song, upbeat song? what? Are you guys going to use one?

Hey Glenn & NiseyyD, I got a great visual I had to share ....

If you haven't already chosen a song I got the perfect one: Bloodhound Gang - Bad Touch ... with everyone running out to the dance floor dancing up on the bride and groom I can't imagine what song would be more appropriate. ;o)
