What have you found to be the most difficult part of planning with your wedding?

What have you guys found to be the most difficult part of your planning process?

For me, picking the venue at first was the most difficult however now im finding the most difficult thing for me is finding a hair and makeup person. Personally, i dont have a particular person i already use for my hair and now ive found that these vendors tend to give me the hardest time with pricing, timing and just overall being very unhelpful when i ask questions. What about you?

Communication honestly. I’m a huge planner and i love it but that means that i’m the middle man for all contacts and people aren’t always as prompt as i’d like them to be and it can get frustrating and stressful when they fall through or take forever to respond.

Finding my photographer. I didn’t have a big budget so most said no when I asked if a by-the-hour option was available. I lucked out with a pro I love but I got the door slammed in my face and honestly it hurt a lot. It wasn’t simply No, it was a lot ruder than that. I have Anxiety so dealing with vendors hasn’t been fun at all but the blatant hostility made it so much worse.

My favorite was my cake. I had a good budget for how small of a cake I needed so the baker was really warm and inviting and excited to help me design my cake. It was the only time I felt like I had the bride treatment(bought dress online)

Easiest was hair & makeup, already go to a full service spa and my stylist is an angel. No stress there.

Other people providing unsolicited advice or opinions, but no funds to back it up.

Planning a Wedding really showed me who was “riding with me”.

It truly brings out the absolute worst in people.
Their pettiness, jealousy, and complete mental instability comes shining through.

If I had it to do over, I’d have just gone to the 🏛and took a really nice Honeymoon.

Wedding isn't until next July so maybe things will get tougher, but it was super hard for me to make a decision about flowers and centerpieces (first world problems, I know). I honestly loved so much of what I saw and I felt so silly talking to florists about what I want because I liked everything. I couldn't really describe what I wanted. I am letting the florist have free reign on making the decor decisions and I feel such relief!

At least it’s almost over! I know no one cares about the wedding as much as the bride and groom but the stress has left me feeling sad. I could’ve just eloped, I pulled together this wedding in 4 months because I wanted to share this moment with my loved ones. At the end of the day we’ll all be married but does it really have to be so stressful? It’s having a serious impact on my health. We’re almost there! I’m hoping for both of us to have a relaxing wedding day. I know I’ll never want to look at another more wedding project again.

I'm with you there! I turn 50 just before my wedding next month, and while I feel youthful this wedding is making me feel old. I had hoped it would be more fun. Parts of it have been really fun, like dress shopping, deciding on colors, MOH dress...stuff like that...but I need to start the centerpieces soon...i'm NOT crafty at all.

I saw your wedding is his month, I really hope it's a great day for youSmiley heart

Haha I’m the same way! I turn 31 right before the wedding. Weddings are exhausting, I feel like I’m 90.
Shopping for the outfit was definitely fun and basking in feeling pretty, but everything else is tiring. If it makes you feel better mine aren’t done either and I’m so not crafty either. Going to suck it up and do them on Monday, they’re guilt tripping me in the corner!
All I see are looming deadlines. This constant pressure to have a good looking wedding on a small budget and questioning every decision because it’s money down the drain and wasted time if it’s a mistake. 😰 but it’s almost here for both of us! Then we can remember what sleep feels like.

I honestly was onboard with eloping and doing a bawling honeymoon and/or inviting immediate family only. My fh wanted a wedding though, so im here planning it for him lol. Im ok woth it cause honestly i rarely celebrate anything in my life, and feel like maybe its time to do something fun...i just try not to think about the mass amount of money im spending on a 6 hr event...

Im planning to do my own centerpieces too i feel like theres so many choices i have no vision on what to do. Best advice i heard was keep it simple then you cant really mess it up.

Stay strong! Its almost there and you'll be able to relax soon!

The doing it alone is rough, especially as things get way closer to the day of.

Everyone keeps telling me its just a party and the things ppl really remember are the experience, food and entertainment. Not the small little details like centerpieces. (I only remember 1 persons centerpieces from weddings ive been to)

Thank you, it’s coming together but it’s far from perfect. My dad’s sick, we just didn’t have time to save and plan. He loves my FH like a son and wants to see us get married. I keep reminding myself the rest doesn’t matter as I fight with color schemes haha.

I hear you, my dad passed away in may and he really wanted to be there for our wedding. We knew he was gonna die soon it just was a matter of when. We considered doing a small private ceremony and super fancy dinner with immediate family only so he could be there for it atleast but he didnt make it to that either :'( originally we tried for this october but we knew we really had no money to do it this year so that was the best compromise we came to especially since no one is providing any funds for our wedding.

Im so sorry to hear about your dad.

To be completely honest I've found the entire planning process extremely stressful. I didn't think I would hate it so much but I haven't enjoyed one moment of planning. I really wish we would've eloped. I hope I get out of this funk soon and start to get excited for the big day.

I’m not really good with words but it hurt my heart to read that, so all I can say is I’m sorry for your pain. My dad’s always been a strong mountainman type guy, always hated doctors, rubbing alcohol in your cuts kind of tough guy. Then one day he got sick, he had a tumor, and ever since he’s been looking weak. He told me one day “I don’t feel strong anymore” and it completely broke me. They removed it and he’s still sick, just feels like I’m losing him.
We had no wedding savings, we were engaged but a car accident wiped out those savings years ago. People can pull off a great wedding in 2 weeks if they have the cash but we don’t. We wait for sales and our super nice vendors let us make payments. I completely understand doing it all on your dime! Let me tell you it’s possible on any budget any any timeline but the stress can break you I swear. I hope your wedding is your dream, waiting will be worth it!
