Agree with everything except the the private cake cutting! I enjoy watching the cake cutting and would think it odd if the couple did it on the side with just family. I can imagine a lot of guests being confused when they realize the cake cutting was already done without any announcement.

I agree!! I don't know who came up with that one, but it's wrong! The cake cutting is fun, and I have never found that it interfered with the party atmosphere of the reception.

It's weird though. I like watching couples cut their cake, and I'm even secretly happy when they smash the cake in each other's faces. But I told FH that if he smashes cake into my face, he'll be heading straight to divorce court! lol Am I twisted, or what?

I agree! I love watching the cake cutting. It'd be really odd if the bride and groom did it away from their guests.
