What flavors would you choose?

Julie, on July 14, 2019 at 8:21 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 10
We’re having a dessert table at our outdoor wedding, and we’re trying to decide on what flavors to choose for our baked goods. We’ll have a small white cake to cut & serve to some of our older guests (who want something classic), and then we’ll have cupcakes, cake pops, and Mexican wedding cookies (we’re serving fish tacos for dinner so we thought these would be a fun & delicious addition).

Now we have to decide on flavors for the cupcakes and the cake pops. So, we need your help! Do you have a favorite cupcake + icing combo, or have you been to a wedding where they had these options; and what flavors were there?

Any input helps! Smiley smile

These sound so yummy! I think lots of people love vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry cake flavors - and buttercream for icing!

I like white or chocolate cake with raspberry frosting, or lemon cake with white frosting

What about mexican hot chocolate for your cupcake flavor to tie in with your cookies?

I vote for chocolate anything. Since you’re having a fall wedding, a carrot, spice, pumpkin, or apple cupcake with cream cheese icing would be a great option.

Carrot cake with cream cheese frosting is popular. Maybe a strawberries and champagne cupcake or lemon cream. Good old fashion vanilla buttercream is good. I found that most people won’t eat chocolate at weddings.....too messy.

Since you’re having white cake I’d go for two extra flavors: 1) chocolate!!! 2) carrot or spice cake—something that fits your fall wedding.

How about a marble cake with both the chocolate and vanilla?
